    Hi all!

    I currently have 3 parts passed and I am schedule to sit for Reg on May 30th (Q2). However, the Q2 score will not be released until the end of Q3. I have failed Reg before and I want to pass this before my Far credit expires on 1/31/2018. I spoke with NASBA to ask if they would give a testing window extension for candidates that are in the middle of testing for the CPA exam, but she said no. If I fail Reg again, I would have to take the exam in Q4 since I will not be allow to take it in Q3 because NASBA will not release the NTS until my score arrives. Should I schedule my Reg exam for Q2 or Q3?

    Thank you
    BonBon

    I just really wanted to get this over and done with. Also I am moving onto a new job and I think the transitioning period will make being able to study in Q3 harder.

    I was also toying with the idea of taking Reg for Q2 and without knowing my score, study until the Q2 score release, then depending on what I get, either apply for the NTS to sit for Q3 or just stop studying and celebrate.

    I think 2 months is a long time! It is your last one!! as is Audit for me. Do not think of failure. Study your ass off this quarter and take it at the end of May.

    Thanks so much! I'll stick with the Q2 test date then. I have to say Reg is killing me left and right with the tricky AMT's and phase out limits!

    Is this your first Aud or a re-match?

    I know how you feel because I am in exactly the same situation as you lol.We are only 1 exam away. I couldn't have imagined this when I first started. We should be more confident than ever, and not start to doubt our ability to pass. I took audit a long time ago and passed.

    That is true, we've come such a long way and this is the last one! I didn't think I had what it took to become a CPA when I first started, my GPA was a meager 2.82. My good old friends finally decided to hold an intervention to talk me into it.

    I have confidence in you, here's hoping we'll become CPAs in 2017!

    It’s no brainer to skip Q2 due to the long wait for the score release.

    OP, if I were you, I’d take your last part at the very end of Q2 so you’d be very well prepared for it. Even after your test, keep on studying so as to keep the information fresh until the release date in August. If you pass by then, just celebrate and forget about what you’ve reviewed. But if you don’t pass, then you do not forget what you’ve prepared for during the long wait.

    Good luck to all of us!

    I am also shooting for my fourth and last section to pass in Q2, FAR.
    I passed it in Q2 of 2014, exactly 3 years ago with a 78. I know I can pass it again!

    @Amor D

    Thank you so much! That is exactly my plan, take Reg at May 30 then keep studying until the score release. Then celebrate or get ready to tackle it a third time depending on my score.

    Good luck to you! Far is a beast but you did it before, you can do it again!

    Q3 doesn't closes at end of August, theres the 10 day extension until September 10th. Scores releases on August 16-18th. Assuming you can find a spot on the 10th, if you keep the material fresh in your head and find out that you failed, there still a chance of 24-25 days of restudying for another attempt.

    @bonbonohate and @kc22

    I am in the same boat as both of you, just one exam left to pass which expires in December. I have FAR scheduled for May 31st and i have always been good about planning and scheduling my tests wayyyy in advance to avoid getting shafted and not being able to get a seat. I am having the same anxiety about not being able to get a seat after the late Q2 score release, due to their being very limited time left in the testing window. Do you guys have any experience with scheduling tests last minute and still getting a seat? Like i said i have never tried this method so it really makes me nervous to think i can only have 2 tries at FAR before losing my BEC credit.

    @Anthony that is true! Lets hope there are still space after the Q2 score release for Q3.

    @IMSgaels319
    I actually had some luck scheduling a test about 1 months before the test date. It was for Aud. All of the weekends were obviously booked, so I schedule it for Thursday which works out, I just had to take the day off for work. With that being said though, I think a lot of people will run into trouble with the Q2 score release so I'd suggest the night you get your score (if it's bad), immediately apply for the NTS for Reg if the old one expired and get a seat for Q3!

    So from what you guys are saying, if we fail in Q2 we will still get a chance to take the exam in the 3rd quarter as long as we can get a seat? Is it likely to get a seat so close to the deadline?

    FAR: 74 1/15/16, 72 7/2/16 -_-
    BEC: TBD
    REG: TBD
    AUD: TBD

    Yes, as long as you get a seat, you can sit for the Q3 testing period if you find out you failed the Q2 test. I don't know by then if all the seats will be snatched up…I know definitely the weekend will all be taken, but you might get lucky and find a spot during the mid-week.
