Need advice on what to study after receiving failing scores

So I found out I failed the REG exam I took in October with a 72. I also failed FAR with a 72. I’m thinking of starting my own forum and calling it another 72 lol!!

I failed AUD horribly (56 yikes!). I used Becker to study and couldn’t really grasp the concepts. After reading though the posts on this site I purchased Roger CPA Review for Audit. I’m confident his motivational lectures will actually help me retain the information!

In his intro lecture, Roger said if you just barely failed a section you should study for it now so the info is still fresh on your brain. I retook FAR yesterday and was shocked to see how much I actually forgot from July (1st time I took it) to now.

So my question is should I study for REG now? I don’t really think I need 5 weeks to study for it and I’d rather focus my time in December on Audit since it was such a beast for me. Do you think a Cram would be enough to help me get to a 75 on REG? Should I study for both REG and AUD and take both exams in January?

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!!

    Megan

Sorry for your scores 🙁 I know what you mean, Audit is such a beast for me as well.

If you have time, I would recommend that you study audit, take it early in January like Jan 5 or 6. Then immediately studying REG, take it early in Feb. I don't know about you but I don't like to study 2 sections at the same time when I don't have to, just too much and I easily get confused.

    Good luck.

Honestly, I think you need to just keep FAR fresh since you just took it. We only have a week to wait for scores. If you start studying another subject you may just forget what you just learned for FAR.

In a week, if you find out you passed, then move to REG since it was your next closest. My mistake was jumping from one exam to the next to the next. I feel I set myself back a year by doing that. I'd hate to see others do the same thing!

    FAR- 63, 75
    AUD- 61, 78
    REG- 63, 74, 80
    BEC - 63, 61, 75!!!!! I'm done!!!!
