Need advice: Failing FAR caused change of plans.

    Hi Guys:

So I recently did not pass FAR, which I took at the end of August. Since then I began studying REG and should be wrapping up in the next week with Becker.

I originally had planned on taking REG/FAR/AUD in the next window. I only work part-time on MWF, but will soon cut that down to MW to get more studying done.

I feel that i can be prepared to be ready to take REG by the end of the 3rd week in Oct, leaving me with 5 weeks until the end of Nov. Given my circumstances, and assuming that I study for 35-40 hours a week, would you guys recommend that I give myself 5 full weeks to re-review FAR? or would it be better to review FAR for 3 weeks and then cram AUD for the final two weeks?

My main concern is that I start full-time in January at a big accounting firm (leaving me very little time to study) and really motivated to get at least REG/FAR out of the way. I understand that this is a subjective question, but I would definitely like to hear anyone’s input/advice on how I should consider approaching this…Thanks!

    FAR - 8/30/11 [60] | 11/23/11 [88]
    REG - 10/28/11 [84]
    BEC - 1/2/12
    AUD - 1/21/12

Definitely try to get as many sections done as you reasonably can before starting full time in January. You don't want to be stressing out over time to study for the CPA when you are trying to juggle busy season hours and prove yourself as the new guy.

I say give yourself the amount of time you think it takes to study for a test and pass. Cramming a bunch of tests together means you took them, but it doesn't mean you passed them.
