It was interesting. The North Carolina State Board facebook site directed people complaining about the scores being mailed to call Phyllis Elliott on Monday to ask why… At some point today (presumably after she was bombarded by calls), they changed that to say e-mail the executive board people including Mr. Brooks who jrncpa2b refers to in her post.
This is all nonsense. Official post from State Board:
“We received BEC the other day and mailed those out today. It usually takes 5-10 days for us to get the grades AFTER the AICPA sends to NASBA. If I hear anything, will post it here, on Twitter, and on our website.”
Let me paint a picture for everyone here.
According to Google Maps, the AICPA office (220 Leigh Farm Road, Durham, NC) is approximately 21.6 miles from the North Carolina State Board of Accountancy (1101 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh, NC). However, instead of a quick drive over to the state board, the scores hop a flight over to NASBA (wherever the heck that is, I am guessing somewhere nearby the moon), and then 5-10 days later arrive back at the North Carolina State Board!!!
Meanwhile, the majority of other states receive scores WEEKS earlier than the NC Board even mails them to us!
Does this make any sense? Of course not!
Meanwhile, our exam fees are THE HIGHEST IN THE COUNTRY! If we fail, we are behind the eight ball in terms of the rest of the country as you cannot submit your NTS to re-take your exam until you receive your failing grade. Meanwhile, candidates who have yet sat for that particular part fill up the exam site AS DO CANDIDATES FROM SC WHO RECEIVED THEIR SCORES WEEKS AGO AND ARE HAVING A FIELD DAY RESCHEDULING AT NC TEST CENTERS!!!
Can I make this any clearer? Can we get someone with some power to put an end to this broken process?
I have passed BEC (80) and AUD (97) and am waiting on my REG and FAR scores. I expect to pass REG and to fail FAR. And so it goes. Give me my freaking score so I can reschedule.
AUD (97)
BEC (80)
FAR (78)
REG (92)
DONE!!!!!!
