I, like most of you, enjoy reading the score release thread above each wave while I wait for someone to stuff envelopes in Raleigh… I see people saying “YAY, got my 76 I’m a CPA!!!!” or “Thought I failed FAR but got a 96!!!” to which they get congratulated… or vice versa for non-passers.

All this happens and by the time we NC candidates get our scores, everyone else has moved on.

I propose we use this thread to:

1. Post our scores!!!! Come out here when you get your envelope and say “YAY… I just passed FAR!!! WOO HOOO!” and we can congratulate each other.

2. Find out when people are getting their letters from Phyllis “All Powerful” Elliot. That way, if you didn’t get yours in a “reasonable” amount of time, you know that you got kicked to another wave.

3. Basically do all the things that the big thread above does for all of the NASBA states.

Of course, since they are releasing starting today, we won’t get many on here for a week or so… but when you get your score… share. (don’t have to share scores)

Just can’t stand when I get mine in the mail, the excitement has died down on this website and people have already moved on to the next wave.

Let’s hope the mail is swift this holiday season… carrying precious cargo… my scores!

I'm also in NC. I get caught up in the excitement of the NASBA state candidates but I didn't think about the excitement wearing off while we wait for snail mail. AUD is the first part of the exam that I took in Nov and I need something to do while I wait for the score. Thanks for posting.

I lived in Charlotte for about 8 years and met my husband there. He's a native tarheel. We ended up moving back to my hometown in SC and he is constantly reminding me of how back-a$$wards SC is.

The CPA exam is the only place I know of that SC has an advantage. Thank goodness I am not waiting on snail mail – I feel for you guys!

I took my first exam in this window so I don't know what to expect as far as how long it takes to get scores in the mail. I took BEC and those were released Tuesday, so when should I expect my results in the mail? Thanks!

@hrdcor32… unfortunately, there is a nice long wait! Usually, you can expect them to actually send them out 7-8 days after the release that everyone else gets, then depending where you live in NC… about 2 days after that. There is a page on the NC website https://www.nccpaboard.gov/Clients/NCBOA/Public/Static/examgrades.htm this will show you when they actually put them in the mailbox.

With the holidays, I don't know what to expect. I know that last wave fell on Thanksgiving… I think BEC was released the Wednesday (a week and one day before T'giving) and I didn't receive mine until the Monday AFTER T'giving. FAR was a few days after.

So, the best we can hope for is that they begin mailing them out to us on Monday, 20th, and we receive on Wednesday. But I would not get my hopes up. Does the mail run on 12/24? If so, there's another day before Christmas (if that's a holiday for you).

Good luck, and try to be patient… it's a very frustrating process for us NC peeps.

FWIW: I've had them lose my REG score in the mail after it was eventually mailed some 8 weeks after taking it.

Also, my initial application was lost in the mail before Thanksgiving of last year and I waited for almost 6 weeks before I learned I needed to re-mail it.(I wasn't wanting to seem like a bother to anyone and I just assumed it had arrived as I only live 10 minutes from their offices at Cameron) .So, I stood in the Christmas Lines at the PO and made certain it was post marked while I watched this time…. IT TOO NEVER ARRIVED. A month later I spent 6 dollars to re-re mail payment and it arrived in one day.

Lesson Learned. Be a bother, don't assume anything is being done. Chances are it's NOT.

Nice to find that there are candidates from NC on this forum. I started as an IL candidate and after that I moved here in Raleigh NC.

NCCPA Board has a tweet the other daythat scores would be send out 24 hours after receiving them. The tweet has since been deleted- not sure what to read into that. The tweet that they are open on the 16th but not fully staffed is still up.

the nc board facebook page had a short post about the mailing of score notices the other day. also, i think the tweet about mailing within 1 business day was a reply to a question/comment about nc being so slow
