I must re-iterate, your story is very inspiring indeed.
I did the same mistake by registering 2 sections at the same time and I got horrible scores. You always think the exam is easy when you’re sitting behind the fence. I have learnt a lot from my mistake and I have to develop a strategy to finish the review course before I even request for NTS.
I have a question if you don’t mind. Why did you decide to get back into studying mode, were you losing out on opportunities and advancement at work ? I would love to hear what your motivating factor is. I wish you good luck and hoping to see you post your final success story.

January 31, 2014 at 5:09 pm #532132jloughMemberI really hope my story can inspire someone like me, who has been out of school for a while and had a previous failed attempt, to get back to CPA studying mode!
I had told myself for years that I would eventually get my license. I was approaching the point where I would be passed up for promotions and I wanted to have the extra income/job security to eventually start a family. But the straw that broke the camel's back was a drunk guy at a club in Atlantic City this time last year……
I was out with my girlfriends and this random guy starts talking to me and asks what I do for a living. I say, I'm an accountant. So he says “Are you a CPA” and I say “No”.
I kept thinking about this conversation for weeks afterwards. I felt really embarrassed about having to say I wasn't a CPA. It made me so angry that a random drunk guy made me feel so badly about myself and I was confused about why I was so angry about it. I realized that it wasn't this random guy's opinion of me that made me angry but that I was angry at myself for not getting my license. For the first time in my life I wanted to be a CPA for my own satisfaction. Not because my job, college professors, family members or friends (or drunk guy in AC) expected me to be one.

This exam ALMOST defeated me back in 2006-2008, but I came back and WON!

January 31, 2014 at 5:32 pm #532134meli083MemberI thought the scores would release early. I've gotten my scores on Friday when the official release was on Monday. Guess I'll have to wait till Monday.

I was sitting somewhere listening and I felt very sad for this person on the receiving end. Since then, I have vowed not to be in the same situation.
Anyway, I don’t want to hijack this thread. I am waiting for my BEC scores on Monday. It’s my 3rd attempt and I hope we all get to smile next week:)

January 31, 2014 at 5:37 pm #532138lleonMember@jlough, that's great and real inspiring. I think there's definitely a good chunk of ppl that go into this because it's kind of expected rather than because they truly want to. It's definitely easier to be motivated when you want it for yourself. Good for you and hopefully your come back is complete with a strong 4 for 4!
I keep logging on here, doesn't help the wait lol Suns game on Sat and Super Bowl sunday should help. See you guys on the other side (of the weekend)! Good luck!
