Nasba created the F5 madness by releasing scores randomly at some point before the official release date. Which they are still doing till this day. Only now its a few hours before official release instead of a day before.

    @michmcr

Exactly what I have been saying. And in an attempt to cleanup the madness they created, they made it worse.

Had 2 dreams last night about my score:

    1. the scores were a combination of my score and my husbands (who is a construction worker). And I scored lower than him, combined still failed – super random!

    2. I was sitting with people from this site and everyone was getting 80's and I got a 74

needless to say, im exhausted today

I live in orange county, NY and we are expecting ice/snow tomorrow and wed so i'm hoping to ‘work from home' tomorrow – and in the event I failed I will cry all day and bill it to my least favorite client!

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

I think one reason they hold the scores is to be able to investigate any anomalies in the scores before release. I guess if pass rate all of a sudden shot up to 90% (an extreme example) they could hold them until they figure what caused that.

    REG (July 2014) - Pass
    AUD (Aug 2014) - Pass
    FAR - (Nov 2014) - Pass
    BEC - (Dec 2014) - Pass

    Licensed Colorado CPA (February 2015)

    DONE!!!!

We all know why they hold the scores. Its because of the curve they claim does not exist. Somehow someway, there's a consistent 50% or below pass rate, and scores take a few weeks to be released. All signs point to a curve.

just wondering how people handle their co-worker. I've got them asking me everyday when i'm getting my score, have the scores come out. If I pass i'm done, I feel like there is so much pressure from everyone to pass I just want to hide away. I'm thinking about working from home tomorrow if I fail so I don't have to tell everyone that day I failed.

    REG - 63,74,70,81!!!
    FAR - 44,73, 81!!!!
    AUD - 51,81!
    BEC - 73,77!!

3 years later and I'm officially done. Never give up no matter what!

I totally get what you're going through Michael. Sometimes I just avoid telling people that I'm studying for a test, just to avoid the headache of them asking “so do you think you passed???” how the heck should i know!?!

    FAR - 81
    REG - 74, 87
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 88

    Finally.

@Michael – Only a few of my coworkers/friends/family know the exact target date. For everyone else, I have just been telling them “Not until sometime next week.” or “Not for a few weeks.” depending on when they have been asking. This way I'm not exactly unfriendly about it, but I can still hold everyone off for a while. I know they are all supportive and curious, but, like you, I don't want the barrage of “Did you pass?!” questions all day on Tuesday.

I just called NASBA, they are releasing scores at the moment. However, I was told that if your score hasn't been released then you will get the “countdown timer.” Clearly this person is confused as you do not need to be logged in, in fact, you cannot log in with the countdown timer going.

I've been trying to use the backdoor in order to apply for a new exam. But my score keeps coming up as N/A. I will keep trying this method and if I get any luck I'll repost. However, I don't think it's going to work. Perhaps they will take down the “countdown timer” as soon as they know for a fact that all scores are posted.

Or, perhaps, they are just reading our posts and having a holiday luncheon and using us as their comic relief.

    - Michael Jordan

    BEC: (54), (72), 80 (losing credit on 02/02/15 - nervous)
    AUD: 78
    REG: (74), 91
    FAR: (71)

I don't think they curve. I know a lot of people think they do but each testlet has questions that don't count. I'm sure they do research on all questions. See what percentage of people got them right, then next year when those questions count they already know what percentage of people will more than likely get that question right. THerefore they can keep the pass rates right around 45-50% without curving. They just know +/- a few percentage points how people will do on each question.
