I'm still hoping that the scores will be released early. If you think about it from NASBA's perspective, they just don't want their site to crash. The easiest way to do that would be to disable the site (like they've done now) and release the scores when they see fit, but BEFORE the countdown ends (otherwise, you're going to have thousands of people refreshing at the exact same time). The countdown gives them a little wiggle room in case something goes wrong.

I believe in the “curve” theory no matter what anyone else says.

A pool of tests are put together and based on how everyone does using the voodoo scoring system the AICPA buys from some tech deity the 75 cutoff is derived.

We're competing against each other, not the test. I passed Audit with a 75 and had no clue on the SIMS except the research. There's no way I passed based on some type of scoring system you would traditionally see in school, etc.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 74, 79
    FAR - 75

You have to buy a ticket to win the raffle.

According to https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/ForCandidates/FAQ/Pages/computer_faqs_3.aspx they do not curve.

The Hunger Games books are based loosely around the CPA Exam experience.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 74, 79
    FAR - 75

@diezel485 I do agree. I think the long delay to release scores (especially at the beginning of the testing window) relates to them wanting a large enough population to make valid statistical calculations.

Everyone…I know, this delay stinks, I sat on October 1st, you can't wait any longer than me this time around! But your score will be the same regardless when it comes out. (This is coming from someone who forgets to check scores on release days and gets them through email usually)

@Workin4CPA I'm not saying a “curve” but it isn't black & white like everyone thinks. There is a human grading factor SOMEWHERE in the process.

so based on your theory, we all need to eat metaphorically berries at the same time so NASBA gives us all passing scores?

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71

So is anyone else seeing this now?

How annoying… I guess its Nasba's way to prevent us from crashing their servers. It looks like Ninja will not go a perfect 10 for 10. Unless, has anyone found a way around this to check their score?

Hunger Games…that's great…and surprisingly similar. I could see a “curve” of sorts would be the only reason they would hold scores. If that's the case…no offense to any of you, but if you took far for the next scoring date…I hope you did sucky…I need this last pass. I really want to finish this off. Just kidding, I honestly would love to see folks pass on their own merit. I mean, with all of the material we have as tools, it is strange that for the most part, pass rates stay largely close to 50% plus or minus…that's really, really coincidental I'm sure.

Sort of, doesn't it typically show the section and not a score when scores have not been released?
