My REG expires on 8/31/11. Am I OK if I take my last part on 8/31/11 or 8/30/11?

One of my exams I passed expires on 8/31/11 (REG). Should I take my last part (AUD) on 8/31/11 or do 8/30/11 instead to be extra sure my REG doesn’t expire?

I think it actually expires on 8/31 so you will have to take it on 8/30. Good luck!!!

    I could either:

    1. Contact my state board to verify?

    2. Just reschedule my exam to 8/30 to be extra safe?

I'm almost positive you have to take it on 8/30. You can contact them to be safe, but I would change my exam date if I were you.

It could be different in my state because basically I took & passed REG on 2/2/10 so I am given until 8/31/11 before it expires, whereas some other states do not round up to the end of the 18th month (at least that's what I've heard). So the question is, when an exam credit expires on 8/31, is it the end of 8/31 or when the clock strikes 00:00 on 8/31 (8/30) 😉

Definitely get it in writing or call and confirm with a second person. Can never be too careful with this process.

    FAR: 84
    AUD: 95
    REG: 78
    BEC: 88
    ETHICS: 100

!?!?!?!? you get a 19 month window? I don't think that's State regulated. I think it's through the AICPA, in which case your exam would expire on 8/2/11, not 8/31. You will want to confirm, and soon!!!

It could vary by state. Licensing requirements are regulated by the state boards, not the AICPA. I passed REG 10/26/09 and my score “expired” on 4/30/11. I took FAR the same day (4/30/11) and my REG score is still valid (pending FAR results). Either way, the expiration date is the last day that the score is valid, not the first day that it is invalid.

@DuckTales yes it appears that under some(or most?) states you effectively get a 19month window. i.e. if you passed your 1st part on the 1st day of the month, you get 18 months from the date you sat for it plus they ROUND UP for the expiration date on that exam credit to end of the 18th month.

I passed REG on Feb 2nd, 2010 and it expires August 31, 2011 (almost 19months). My understanding (and the confusion) is that one or more states might say my REG expires August 2nd, 2011 (exactly 18months)?

My letter/score report document I received both mail and e-mail (Uniform CPA Exam Notice) specifically states REG expires 8/31/11 even though I took it 2/2/10.

I just wanted to make sure that doesn't mean I have to take it 8/30 instead of 8/31
