My First Fail :(

I’ve been gone too long from this forum, but I’ve been moving into a new house and getting things organized…busy busy!!

Anyway, I checked my Audit score when I was in Home Depot yesterday and was pretty shocked to see the dreadful 74 appear πŸ™ this is my first FAIL and it stings pretty bad! I’m so disappointed…I’m confused too because I felt so much better about it than I did FAR and BEC, but I passed both of those! WTH?!

I had pushed off REG to October 1st and have been studying for that, but now I think I should move REG to November and try and retake Audit at the beginning of October. I am already too distracted by this fail, but I am motivated to defeat Audit this next time around!

Anyone else have any thoughts or suggestions?

Btw, congrats to those who passed and I feel your pain to those who didn’t.

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

oh rats! (congrats on the new house!)

I left super confident too, really BELIEVED I scored in the mid 80's. I am still confused about it, but sitting here writing out index cards. Yay me.

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

    IwannaBacpa,

I was wondering where you were. Glad the move went well. So sorry about Audit. I got my bad news on Audit this morning. it does suck. Right now I am in the angry stage of the mourning process. MLA1699 motivated me this morning to get my big fat @ss to Target for ammo: notebooks, highlighters, pens, and tons of chocolate. (Thank you mla1699 for the inspiration and pep talk).

I am going to try and watch Bridesmaids tonight and drink some good beer. Hopefully, I can wake up tomorrow and get some gumption for REG scores that will undoubtedly be coming out next week.

I think Audit is misleading. It is, for me, a much harder exam. Details, details, details!!! I am going to try the Roger cram–I need a little energy to get me through it. I used Becker and Wiley test bank last round. I really felt like they prepared me well……but I guess not. I got a huge notebook, so I can rewrite all my notes and then the Ninja notes. I just don't want to start the process till I find out about REG.

Great to hear from ya….best of luck with Audit and REG.

@yankeeaccountant, Bridesmaids is JUST what you need! It's really funny. You need some funny in your life and then you will come back for AUD with a vengeance! !!!!!!!

    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60

    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I failed BEC 6 times, FAR 3 and lost my REG and AUD credit. I'll be back to redo them all again once I finish my CGAP. I decided to take a break and get my CFE (done) and then the CGAP (Oct). I plan on restudying and trying for Jan either FAR or BEC first.

Thanks everyone! I'm super bummed, but you all inspire me to get over it and keep pushing forward. I will hit Audit starting tomorrow. I just couldn't do it today…

@Yankee: sorry to hear you didn't pass either. I feel pretty confused because I too thought I was prepared…I'm not sure how to change my approach so I don't have to repeat Audit again…anyway, enjoy your movie! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!

@dhuff: good luck with everything! I'm so impressed by you perseverance!

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

Congratulations on the new house, IWannaBeCPA. Have you studied a lot for REG and are getting ready to take it Oct.1? If yes, maybe you should just take it then and get it over with…

Great news to all who passed. For those who didn't (mla1169, yankeeaccountant, dhuffman, etc.), I can commiserate. I found out I did not pass BEC. I'm hoping I passed the other exam I took this window.

I thought I would be done with the review program, and was looking forward to dumping all those books and flashcards πŸ™ Oh well. The clutter will have to stay.

I hope the next few days bring good news to everyone who is waiting for the rest of the results. Have a wonderful weekend!

    @Iwanna,

I'm sorry to hear the bad news. πŸ™

I'd take AUD sooner rather than later.

    AUD - 95, BEC - 85
    REG - 85, Rawrrrrrr FAR - 88
    Used Becker for all sections.

@Iwanna this is my first fail as well πŸ™ But it's ok. I've come to terms with it, and discussed it with my family albeit briefly. This is truly the bar exam for accountants, and we'll take it as many times as we need to pass it. We've seen so many individuals on these forums who bomb with 40's and 50's and due to perseverance, eventually pass with flying colors. I think a major threat to us is burnout.. so advice for that element is always welcome.

The support you grant each other is addicting and energizing.

I'm spending the remainder of my Saturday evening having a beer, making some κΉ€μΉ˜ (kimchi), and applying to some local/regional firms. Tomorrow is all about setting up a new study schedule and cranking out MCQs.. don't even want to know REG scores..
