MattBlackWRXParticipantSo 2 weeks until this batch of scores are released. I saw someone do this kind of thread for my Audit exam and it really helped seeing everyone get together to chat about it.

gigabyte2001Participant@TryAgain I may have misunderstood – I thought I was replying to HRSexton re: the missing score report? Yes I have to take the ethics piece next. I had to email OAB to learn that when you finally pass all 4 parts as evidenced by the official notice they receive from NASBA, then they will send you a “successful packet” which includes the next steps to take, the forms you need etc. Basically all the data I expected to find on their website but didn't. Kind of frustrating.
@Needsa75 I'm right there with you. just feels weird that i won't spend my whole weekend studying but on the other hand, I don't feel like my brain is recovered yet either?B - 11/11/16

March 23, 2017 at 6:30 pm #1521402
gigabyte2001Participant@Needsa75 LOL My brain is fried, or perhaps sleep deprived or maybe just still in shock? I don't seem to have the computing power for complicated processes this week 🙂 Maybe it will come back next week?

CPA_ChikParticipantIt is very weird that I don't have to study anymore…feels like something is missing. I'm signing up for a book club or something.
But my brain does go through a withdrawal: I had a dream last night that I need to brush up on leases and pensions…. not any more!!!!!!!!!!!REG - 75!!!

mckan514wParticipantI feel like I need to go to a “CPA recovery”/ 12-steps program– actually went out to dinner with friends on WEDNESDAY! night- but then couldn't relax because I kept thinking “I shouldn't be doing this”- ha ha ha ha- now here I am with my morning coffee logging in to A71. At least my bad dreams have subsided but I honestly am having a hard time adjusting to “life on the other side”- I keep feeling like I should be studying. 🙂
oh and gigabyte my brain is FRIED as well- my husband actually asked me yesterday when I thought it might start working again- ha ha ha ha ha…..
and they ask me why I drink...
FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade

gigabyte2001ParticipantI guess we can consider this thread our recovery program? Hi, My name is gigabyte2001, and I'm a CPA Exam-aholic. Since I learned I passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam, I feel lost, dazed and confused. I don't know what to do with all this free time. I feel guilty for spending this time doing things other than studying for exams. When family & friends say they are so glad to have me BACK I wonder who and what they are talking about. I feel very unproductive.

smoothiezguyParticipantToo funny!!!
If anything, don't let the completion of the exams stop you from continuing to learn… One more exam left still for me, but one thing I've learned through the process of studying for these exams is how our brains need practice to maintain agility. 😀 Just like doing anything well requires ongoing maintenance/practice – if I stop studying for a bit, it's crazy how fast I regress/forget. 🙁
Of course, I'm NOT talking about continually operating on the level that we have to to get these beasts done with, but just light mental exercising to keep the brain more pliable. Once I'm done, I'm thinking about reading a book a week over a broad range of topics.
Until then… I'll keep being an exam-aholic. 😛

IMSgaels319ParticipantYou guys have got to be kidding me with the CPA recovery program. GET BACK TO YOUR LIFE AND ENJOY IT. I still have one part left and although its great feeling, its also a miserable feeling having to start from scratch on a whole new test (which just so happens to be FAR aka the longest one =[ ).. Besides if you really feel that empty inside without the studying, get some more letters behind your name (CMA, CIA etc) and up your worth. None the less, CONGRATS!

gigabyte2001Participant@IMSgaels319 LOL It's just new and still feels a little strange. Being done is an adjustment of it's own.

cwlandersParticipant@gigabyte2001 I feel like I am having to learn how to have fun again. Before the test I used to watch netflix and movies but now feel like I am being unproductive if I sit and watch a whole movie. I studied for 1 year 3 months (definitely not as long as some people) but it is still weird having to adjust back to normal life. I had dinner with a friend for 2 and a half hours last night and still felt anxious toward the end because I usually have to leave after 45 minutes or an hour to go study. I didn't think it would take so long to get used to normal life again.

gigabyte2001Participant@cwlanders ME TOO! I studied for 14 mos myself. Last night I had supper with two of my closest girlfriends because they wanted to take me out to celebrate. First, it was short notice and I was surprised that I really could then I couldn't stop checking the time after about the first 45 min to an hour. It FELT like I should be somewhere doing something but I really didn't have anywhere to go or anything else to do. Really really strange feeling.
Definitely relieved and glad to be done. Just a little strange getting used to normal!

CPA_ChikParticipantI'm kind of already missing my excuse that I have to study non-stop. My bf proposed in February and I was saying that there are no plans or date yet due to my CPA uncertainty. Well, now everyone is on our case… I guess I have to start planning the wedding now, UGHHHH….

gigabyte2001Participant@CPA_Chik – Standard answer to those people is: “We're really enjoying being engaged right now and taking time to decide what we want in our wedding. When we choose a date, we'll let you know!”
I took 16 months from engagement to wedding and if they didn't like it – TOUGH! You might also say you're waiting so you can save up funds.
