AnonymousInactiveI've called nasba several times this week about the second wave of BEC and got different answers every time. I know they are tired of all the phone calls, emails, etc, but we are tired of waiting, too. I sure hope today is the day!

AnonymousInactiveHello, everyone. I am new to the site; please bear with me! If this question has been asked already, or if this is not the appropriate discussion for my question, then I do apologize.
I was wondering…
Does anyone know how it is determined who gets two research questions in the Sims and who does not? If research questions are “easier”, then is it the complex scoring of the whole exam that justifies one person getting two versus getting one? On my last exam, I had two research questions, both of which I believe I answered correctly. I was afraid, however, that when I got my score back (which ended up being a failing one *sigh*) it wouldn't be very genuine, possibly being weighed down by the two research questions answered correctly. (Sims are not my thing – they have kept me from passing in the past.)
So really, what I'm getting at is… did I possibly perform even more poorly than my score may indicate, if I did in fact answer those two research questions correctly?
I recently received my score report, and while I performed well on the MC, I performed worse on the Sims – this leads me to believe I am not being mislead… but rather I just don't perform well on the Sims.
Thanks for any help.

AnonymousInactive@mandy8041 – they've said such crazy things as…
1. they legally have until the 30th at midnight
2. they have no idea when the release will be
3. ‘sir, looks like you are in a bind for rescheduling if you do not pass' (2-3 day business day waiting period and no accomodations are made for the delay in scores in rescheduling exam if prometrics is booked up)
4. hopefully this week we will release them
5. there was one really nice lady who actually pulled my file and checked for me

RedRage00Memberlol, what did the lady who pulled your file say?

firewatchMemberI did not realize until yesterday that Arizona was now posting scores online. I believe this is the first window that they have done so. I guess they decided to join the 21st century. Anyway, I received both my FAR and REG scores from AZ. Damn that 18 mos time limit. I would be done with this whole process if I had just moved a little faster – my own fault.

MOM2THREEMemberThis was just posted on the NASBA facebook page:
On the AICPA facebook page they replied saying that the BEC scores are taking longer because the scores that are close to passing need to be analyzed by a human grader to make sure they get what they deserve since it isn't like other parts of the exam. I assume that doesn't mean everyone is close to pass/fail in the next bunch that is released b/c they prob want to release all of them at the same time. Just in case anyone was curious!!! I would guess we get them tonight

kandisjoyParticipantSorry ladies and gents, I have been very busy at work (first day back after a 5 day vacation). 115 emails, really? And an emergency report due to the COO. Finally time to catch up on here. 🙂
hilaryh – Thank you and CONGRATS to you too!!!! Doesn't it feel amazing to finally be done?
kb24 – Thank you for your support over these past few months. I took my first exam in 2009 and failed with a 71.. and now here I am. Finally done. I wish I'd done it like you and just gotten them all done quickly! But it doesn't matter now because I'm done! Thank goodness!
Allyson – CONGRATS! I am so very happy for you. I have been cheering for you for a while now and it feels so right that we are done at the same time. 🙂
keeptrying – Thank you, and good luck with BEC. I'm rootin' for you. I think of anyone on this forum, I hope the most that you pass this time around.
BakedCPA – Seriously, I've been pinching myself too. I break out into tears of relief randomly throughout the day. I still feel kind of anxious and sick, but I think that might be because I was up all night stressing out and only got about 2 hours of sleep. lol
Megan – Thank you. You're almost there! Keep it up and you will soon be a CPA!
Minimorty – Thank you! I can't even believe that I'm done. I'll definitely be on the forums still, cheering for you. 🙂
OnMyWayToCPA – Thank you. Good luck with BEC!
I'm calling the California Board of Accountancy to request a refund of my app fee today. I was so sure that I had failed that I ordered the Wiley test bank and applied for a new NTS, and I was already eyeing the days that I planned to test (since my FAR expired in mid October). I'm still shocked that I passed. I was expecting a 60-something. And I scored “Stronger” on the sims?? What?? I thought that they were the reason I would fail! This is such a crazy test!
