***OPTIMISTIC UPDATE FROM AICPA AND NASBA:***
So I called NASBA first. Told them I saw their tweet and Facebook post and was NOT happy that the new target release date is now Monday. I point blankly asked if they had received the scores from the AICPA yet. She said “No.” She promised that as soon as they receive them, they would release them. She further said that it is an automatic process, and a live human being doesn't need to be there to press the button. As long as the AICPA gets them to NASBA by end of business today, we could receive them as early as tonight and could continue receiving them on Saturday and Sunday. They updated the target release date to Monday to cover their own butts in case this doesn't happen. She also said NASBA received 700 calls today.
Then I called AICPA. Upon questioning the status he told me “We have released the scores to NASBA and it's now out of our hands and up to them to release them.” I responded “Well that's curious since I just spoke to NASBA and they said you did NOT release the scores to them yet.” He replied “Interesting. Hold on a minute while I speak to my supervisor.”
After being placed on hold, he returned telling me that there was some misscomunication in the call center (and the entire organization for that matter!) and that the scores had NOT been released to NASBA yet. He said “We have until 5 PM EST to release them to NASBA.” I asked if that's a hard deadline, and he said yes. I then told them that part of canidates major frustration is the lack of communication about what's actually going on. I asked if they intend to update their Facebook and Twitter when they send the scores to NASBA and he replied “I think the Social Media person went home for the day.” I then strongly urged him to speak to his supervisor and get this information posted and tweeted to try to ingratiate themselves in our eyes. He said that was a good idea and would pass it along. I also requested a call back when the scores are released to NASBA and left my phone number, and he said that he would call me back within 5 minutes of the scores being sent to NASBA.
So I am, yet again, cautiously optimistic that AICPA will release them in the next 30 minutes, and NASBA will hit the magic button and release them in waves over the weekend.
