Um , Experienced Auditor you may be good at what you do and you may have breezed through AUD but you obviously don't know jack about the exam. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DIVULGE EXAM QUESTIONS IN ANY FORM. That kind of behavior will keep you from getting a license no matter how high you score on the exams.

I'm not saying the exam is different I'm saying the hours are different. I work 70 hour weeks during busy season and then study another 20. It's really great that your work experience helped you w/not having to study as much (or if at all). for people to have to work + study the time committment and the life the exam sucks out of you are significantly greater I would think. That's all I'm saying. Let's squash this and move on. COME ON REG.

@iwantmylifeback, I seriously started crying… cause it is so true…… I remember I was auditing a aerospace company and I asked my staff to do an inventory count I called to check in on her and she said she was complete and she would finish the workpaper when she got back into the office. Later that night I checked out the file and I kid you not there were numerous variances and next to most of them was this tickmark {a} auditor noted exception, however, per discussion with client variance is expected given limited controls over inventory waive further testing as this is consistent with our understanding of the client's internal control.

@Experienced Auditor – Ever think your testament to how “stupid” your staff are might be a testament to how “good” of a teacher you are?

I didn't think any firms would let someone become a lead or manager without having the ability to attest. I realize it may not be required, but as a measure of quality assurance.

@CPA means can't pass again – I'm going to take up for experienced auditor because I feel like I'm in the same boat.

I'm not even kidding, you can sit down with these kids, walk them through step by step, ask them if they have questions, make notes and checklists for them (even though they should be able to take their own notes), check on them every couple of hours, and then when you get signed off work papers you just sit around in awe. It's really only been the past couple of years. There was a generation change or something.

AUD 92 (now expired FML), retake 2/27
    BEC 87
    FAR 73, 73, 78
    REG 70, 74, 75

CPA means Cant Pass@ Valid point I do try to teach my staff unfortunately at my level when I get the work papers I have a deadline to turn around the report to a partner and I just don't have the benefit of pulling a first year aside and helping them as much as I would like. I guess that is just an issue with my firm. I would love to be able to bill time to training, however, when I am evaluated by my partners it is about my billiable hours and I have to admit for the most part I am pretty selfish (I want to work and leave asap).
