I’m starting REG 1 for Becker and im trying to finish up the questions and i noticed that im having a HARD time answering these questions about indiv. taxation and all the different types of rules my first time around. Did anyone else struggle with REG 1 the first time?

I sit July 27th, I am almost through R6 and plan on finishing R7 tomorrow if I can focus. I know the feeling, I spend a lot of time “studying” but I am probably only focused half of the time and easily distracted. I haven't even gotten through the material yet which is somewhat nerve recking but I spent a lot of time going through tax slowly. My review will start Friday or Saturday, probably saturday. I plan to only go over tax mc and calcs in my review (hope it all clicks the 2nd time through) and for Blaw just review flash cards and whatever sticks sticks as Peter Olinto would say. Good luck to you too! I hope my plan to just emphasize tax works out.

I just finished up BEC 2 and Peter Olinto says that sooooooo often. Of course the MCQs almost seem to FOCUS on the ancillary material more than the lectured materials. I like Peter Olinto but can't stand when he says that!

That actually sounds like a smart idea. I was thinking of doing the same…I will review everything but will probably do the most mcq in tax. But, then again, only if blaw starts to stick in my head during review. I did so poorly on the homework mcq's. I think I had blaw in 1985–first semester of college! Yep, I am old!!!

Yankee, I had BLaw in 1986. There are no sims on it, right?

Good question, I have no idea, but would think so. I had sims on blaw in Becker…..haven't checked Wiley out yet.

When are you taking the exam?

@Allyson- According to Phil Yaeger, they're starting to put some BLaw Sims on the exam now. So, expect to get 1 or 2.

Eeeek. I haven't started the law stuff yet. I'm hung up on R4 which is probably the looooooooooooooongest chapter ever.

Seems like I read there aren't sims on the law part.

I finished all the videos during the 3rd week of June and I'm in the process of reviewing the material. It's easy to forget all of this stuff, so Jeff's NINJA advice is spot on when he says to get all the videos out of the way asap because you'll forget them anyway. So, you'll need to finish the videos early enough so you have enough time at the end for review and practice questions.

CPAMan. That is true..i tend to forget what i “watched/listened” on the lecture. I usually learn the material as i re-read and solve problems. So you suggest i watch all the Becker videos first and then solve the problems?
