telling everyone today is the day for the score release? My family and friends are starting to check in, and I am suddenly very nervous. I’m really not going to like it if I have to tell everybody I didn’t pass!

I'm regretting telling people that I even took the exam. I'm trying to stay low key so that nobody, epsecially my coworkers, asks me about it. I, of course, work at a firm where everyone took the exam “back when it was hard” and passed the first time with a full weekend's worth of studying! What would they think if I failed one section after 2 months of studying????

    AUD- 93
    BEC- 79

I am…after I passed the first one, I told everyone. Now, if I fail, I'll have to tell everyone. 🙁

I hear ya, Simslayer. “Back in my day…” *groan*

Its so much easier now that you only have to take one section at a time. Yeah, right.

I always regret telling people when I am sitting for the exam, lol. But it always seems impossible to keep it a secret because coworkers see you studying during lunch/downtime, friends/family want to know why you can't go out, etc etc.

I would never have told my boss/co workers if they weren't reimbursing me for my fees, etc LOL

People just don't understand the pressure we have on the exam. Sometimes I just kept it quiet so that I can focus on my study instead of being looked as a failure.

“Back in the day” makes me roll my eyes.

Yes, back in the day, there was no such thing as derivatives, Sarbanes-Oxley, 401ks, earned income tax credit, LLCs, or such things as reverse mergers. 150 academic credits were not as widely required back in the day as it is today. And today, there is no such thing as getting credit if you failed a section, like it was back in the day.

    Couldn't pass again!

Or IFRS. Let's not forget about IFRS!

I'm feeling the same way about telling anyone I was taking the exam. Whenever I tell someone we can't do something b/c I am studying for an exam, they immediately ask when the exam is. They just don't understand why you have to study several weeks out for this thing. Then if I fail I'm going to feel like a dummy b/c in their eyes I have been studying for this test for a really long time. I have been a stay-at-home for the past 7 years, so I only have a couple accounting friends that truly understand. Everyone else thinks I'm psycho!
