Is anybody else developing weird habits?

    Since I have been studying in a more “full time” capacity, I have this insane habit of chewing gum. I am not talking your run-of-the-mill type of chew. I mean a possessed, chew the whole pack of gum kind of chew. I am hooked on that new Trident Vitality gum (really because they are like “chiclet” gum–reminiscent of much younger days). The bad thing is that I really do mean possessed–because when I am done my jaw is so sore!

    I chew the gum, in a way that somehow subconsciously, I must be thinking that if I chew really hard the answer will magically come into my head, or that the mnemonic will finally stick, or that the third week of September will come faster !!

    Weird stuff. Last thought: What the full moon does to the werewolf, is like what the CPA exam does to accountants-in-waiting !

    ok, back to mcq’s. 🙂

    I've actually heard that chewing gum helps you remember things better and perform better on test. And that it helps nervous/anxious test takers focus better. (maybe because it distracts you from being nervous?)

    @ calcpasoon—I hope you are right. Maybe it isn't such a crazy thing after all.

    @Peanut–ya know, this thread could go right into the ….you know your over tired when….. thread. because sometimes I post something and then read it the next day and I am thinking–really? I wrote that?

    @cev—what I didn't write was that i had a piece of pepperoni pizza loaded with hot pepper flakes while I was studying last night..so I am right there with ya!

    My neighbor's not studying for the CPA exam that I know of, but he's developing weird habits…like trolling the neighborhood at 4:00 a.m. shining a flashlight at people's houses, chasing raccoons, and unscrewing light bulbs from outside lights. Suspected meth addict.

    Thanks, mla. I have ways to protect myself.

    Screwing around on other folk's property with a flashlight in the wee hours of the morning is not a wise thing to do in Texas.

    I'm not really developing any weird habits. I'm just getting panic attacks every night now in fear that I might bomb REG after all the 200+ hours of studying I've been doing. Errr.

    I kept falling asleep during Kaplan's review videos. So I ended up picking up yo-yoing to keep part of me moving so I could stay awake. I have been yo-yoing now for a year. Incoming another quirky accountant.

    @CPawl,

    love that. I think that is way better than my gum chewing habit! Looks like it is working for you. Last exam! I am sitting for Audit on 8/30 and am hoping it is my last one as well.

    I just need to get past A4 and A5 in Becker.

    Best of luck!!!
