This was my very first test! I started back in February 2011 and FINALLY took the REG test on 8/27/11. I got interrupted in my studies about 4 times because of my damn tonsils! (3 bouts of tonsilitis and 1x tonsillectomy). Right now I’m working as an auditor at a small CPA firm which can be challenging. I chose to take on REG first because I felt like it was going to be my weakest subject since I only took one tax class at my uni and didn’t remember anything.
I don’t have kids, and am not married. However, I have to deal with over 2 hours of traffic every single day for work. This doesn’t leave me with much time to study during the week. Now, I CANNOT do Jeff’s ELL plan…I need my sleep. >.> I can’t function with less than 6 hours of sleep and I need my full hour to relax during the work day.
The review course I used is Becker and…I never did the practice tests or simulations. I just never got around to it. I studied about 15 hours a week, which isn’t much but keep in mind that I was studying since February and went over the materials about 3 times.
I left the test center feeling absolutely terrible even though 2 of my questions on TBS were code research questions. For sure I had gotten a score of 50. I changed the answers on my TBS multiple times. But I’ve always been a fast multiple choice test taker and I was left with over an hour and a half for my TBS. I thought I did so terrible that I was even starting to think that maybe I should switch from auditor to tax preparer so I could pass this exam. But I checked scores this morning and my advisory score for REG was 86…I couldn’t believe it!! I really needed this because I was starting to feel like a real idiot and maybe that success wasn’t meant for me. But I didn’t give up and neither should any one else.
One down, 3 more to go!! Guess I won’t need to break up with my boyfriend….
B 2/12 87
A 11/11 90
R 8/11 86
F 5/12 88
