for the most part, whats done is done as far as studying. Have to take a deep breath, have a little faith that it was “enough”, give yourself a good old ‘atta boy or ‘atta girl and try to learn just one or two more things. For me, the two things I want to focus on today are segregation of duties in IT and the difference between naming and not naming another auditor whose work the principal auditor relied on.

    Other than that, PLAY BALL!

lucky you. im taking aud in 26 hours and i haven't finished going through all of the prep course lessons (cpaexcel) for the first time yet. (of course, its my fault, primarily due to spending all of last week not studying while finding an apartment.) no leisurely last day for me!

It's about 6 days before my REG exam and I'm pretty much done with all I have to study. I've painstakingly studied for the past three months and right now, I feel that any additional study time I'm putting in is overkill. I probably have to just look over the July updates one more time, look over a few of the law stuff that I'm slightly struggling with, and just go over a few tax rules that might've slipped my mind over the week. Other than that, I don't know what else to do at this point. I should've scheduled the test a week earlier. My mind is just completely fried and is just worn out. I want to take the test already!!

Sadly tomorrow will be a different story, I have a final exam in my Mergers & Acquisitions class on Friday. Have to catch up on all of the studying for THAT since I ignored all week focused on AUD. I have a 96 average going into the exam and the final is only worth 25% of the grade so I figure worst case scenario I still pass even if it isn't what I wanted.

Next is International Accounting LOL. Might have come in handy if I had taken it sooner.

@Value — I wish they taught M&A in Undergraduate level classes as well. I learned the financial accounting and tax perspectives of M&As, but not until the Graduate level. I think it should be integrated with Undergrad Intermediate Accounting.

@baseball same here… consolidations covered in advanced financial, and other topics covered in tax. there is one class tailored more specifically to the advisory side of things (which would have related more to my job) but it wasnt offered every semester.

however, i was able to take forensic (offered the semester when the M&A-like class wasn't) and it was probably the most interesting class ive taken. i'm excited for the job im about to start, but a part of me wishes that i had gone into forensic/wants to switch to that LOB eventually.

Forensic is my FANTASY! (seriously) I've not pursued it yet because I assume like audit there is always some travelling involved. I am not willing to finish all of this studying/schooling to sign on to be away from my kids several weeks a year. But once the princess is driving and independant in a few years, and I wouldn't see her anyway…..I may look into it!

The only downside about taking the exam, is by this point we are all so tired of the cutesy comments from our well meaning family and friends “you'll do great!”, “you sure did study enough for this!” and of course “is this your last one” (if I PASS then I still have the ethics exam, if I FAIL its back to the races)

And its only beginning. If this is your first section, and like me you talk to friends and family about this…..get ready for the “did you get your score? did you find out yet? why does it take so long?”

anyone whose ever been pregnant can relate, those last few weeks of “you didn't have that baby yet?”

and if one, even ONE more person at work tells me they are TIRED, I may lose the composure I've worked so hard at keeping all day.
