Anything you have used or are using as a distraction this week, recommendations are welcome. I am going crazy.

My nerves have always been pretty good. My perception basically ultimately is “You studied, you took the test, you did your best, so not much else you can do but wait.”

There's no use in going crazy or worrying about it in my opinion. But rather focus on planning and being prepared for what's ahead.

I just watched the new Game of Thrones…I was anticipating the new episode more than I am the score to be honest.

I have been neck deep in studying for my next exam anyway so day in and day out my nose is “in a book” preparing for the next section.

There's literally no use in analyzing and overanalyzing the score release. But rather focus ahead on what you need to do and what needs to be done, whether you passed the section or not.

I've been studying for Aud (In case I fail FAR) and CMA Pt 1 to keep me distracted. Other than that, keeping up with the house and working (which sucked so bad the last 2 weeks). Trying to get my semi-new director to get cracking on writing our CAFR before I just do it myself (trying my hardest not to show him up). I got passed over because I wasn't done with these stupid tests, so I'm hoping this chapter comes to an end ASAP.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

@matylor24 Do you work in government? I work for a mid-size County (about 250K population) and with a team of 7 and we are currently in “CAFR season.” Its considered our “busy” season, so needless to say its been tough keeping up with the work and studying since I am relatively new to my (been here about a year and a half…started right out of school).

@GinjaNinja, Yeah I work for a toll (road) authority (team of 5, but pretty much everything goes through me). I will hit my 2 years in Sept. Worked Accounting in Healthcare for 4 years prior to this. Still no public experience lol

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

@mtaylor24 Right on…public is definitely not for everyone. Right now, only one other person on our team has their CPA license (which she obtained about 10 years ago), so I definitely feel like my coworkers don't understand my struggle, which can be frustrating at times. I don't regret going into government, but have tp admit that to can be frustrating seeing others be promoted just because of seniority…not because they truly deserve the job. I feel like a CPA license is undervalued and underappreciated in government just because people don't necessarily know how much determination and effort it takes to pass.

Anyways, going back to the main topic of the thread….I am waiting on my BEC score (which I failed back in March with a dreaded 74), but I am currently distracted with studying for my REG retake, which is scheduled for next week (purposely scheduled for the day before score release). REG can potentially be my last test (*fingers crossed*). I honestly have no idea whether I passed BEC because I got a ton of random IT questions, so it's hard to gage how well I did. Every time I think about score release I get a knot in my stomach…I just want to pass soooooo bad!!!

I just moved into a new apartment so it helps to unpack things during study and work breaks (if I'm working from home). Other than that, I have been trying to keep up with a healthier lifestyle as I'd gained 10 pounds since starting on my first exam last year and then all the travel for work. So cooking healthy recipes and working out at home keeps me distracted.

I don't know how many people are in my shoes.. waiting on 3 exam scores, REG this upcoming week, AUD and BEC both on the 22nd of September.
    Definitely anxious!

I feel better about BEC and especially AUD than I am about REG, primarily because I don't recall how I felt leaving the exam center after my 3rd attempt at REG. So I've decided to start studying for REG just in case I don't pass, and hopefully squeezing in another attempt in the Fall if necessary.

Is anyone in a similar situation?
My FAR score expires in April 2018 so the pressure certainly is building!

How am I keeping sane? By just knowing that I can fail as many times as I need to before I pass! Hopefully sooner than later!! šŸ™‚

I have kept sane this summer by doing all the things I didn't get to do as much while I was studying. I have been rock climbing, golfing, disc golfing, playing basketball, pretty much everything I wanted to do while I was studying.

If I passed AUD, I am done. Thinking about having to study after over 2 months of not studying makes me want to vomit….

Thanks for your responses! I do agree GOT is a welcome distraction. šŸ™‚

I have no more exams to study for and this was my third attempt at REG, at risk of losing credit for AUD so that is not helping the nerves.

I'm beating myself up over the experience and wondering if I prepared enough for this last attempt. I do have plenty of work to bury myself in, so maybe I should go that route.

That, and wedding planning! Getting married in a little over a month! You would think that is distraction enough but the anxiety is REAL!

I took my very first CPA exam, FAR, at the end of May and my second, AUD, at the beginning of the August. I'm on anxiety overload because I studied so hard for FAR and honestly felt horrible when I left the exam. Then going to sit for AUD was very nerve wracking because I didn't have a score FAR which means I didn't have anything to gauge my study methods off of.

Side note GOT is helping a little šŸ™‚

I've just been studying as though I failed. I think my chances are 50/50 but like many others I have passed three and will lose credit at the end of Q3 if not given an extension in the event of a failing grade. So with work and doing a final two week cram session 8-10 hours a day I haven't had much free time to let my mind wonder. It feels a lot more like two weeks before a test than three days before a score release.
