I’m totally baffled how some get this test done within a few weeks. I work 9-5 probably like most others, but I know there is no way I could pass any section without a month or two of studying. I know Yaeger says anywhere from 100-200hrs per section, but some get through all four parts in a month or two. Even if I was unemployed with 10hrs a day studying, I don’t think I could pull that off….Kudos to who pulled it off in such a short time, but how??

    Audit Passed
    FAR Passed
    REG Passed
    BEC ??

Evaluating the time required is just like every aspect of preparing for the exam; you have to make an honest assessment of your circumstances, strengths, and weaknesses. Yes, most people can find some extra time to study if they are willing to cut back or give up on some things for a while or think of ways to utilize down time such as commuting. However, there is a physical limit as too how much time is available if you're in school, working, have children at home, or there's something else going on in your life that requires your time. Also, there are your own personal limits – how long can you study effectively at one sitting, how quickly can you go through the material, etc. The only person who really knows what is possible is you. It bugs me when people make blanket statements like “you should be able to prepare for an exam in xxx hours”. Maybe it's possible for that person but not for you because of different learning speeds or base knowledge levels. Make the exam as big a priority in your life as is possible given everything else in it, figure out what study methods work best for you, and you'll get through the exams as quickly as is possible for you.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85
