    Hey ninjas. HIYA

I don’t write a lot in this forum, but I wanted to share my experiences regarding the sims for the CPA Exam.

Please don’t be daunted by sims (Especially for REG and FAR). We all know 50% of the exam is sims, but quite frankly I basically put 0s/blanks/”uneducated” guesses on 3-4 of my sims for REG and ended up with a 79. If you do well on the multiple choice and get some and I mean SOME of the sims right (It even says in the AICPA Exam content guideline), you are on your way to a CPA.

So relax when you get a sim that’s totally outta the ball park. Just make a educated guess or move on to other sims that you are more confident in.

I thought the quote, “If you study, you’ll pass” was complete bs, but after taking and passing all, it really is true.

    LETS GIT IT NINJAS

Thanks for this.. waiting for my BEC score. I got a sim that stumped me so bad i nearly cried. i had no choice but to guess and im scared that that sim will be the death of me getting a passing grade.

Hey! 1 sim ain't going to kill you haha. If you did well on M/C and ok on other sims and Writing section, you will be fine. (No guarantees, but from my experience!) If you thought the test was hard, it's usually a good sign anyways. Keep your head up and be confident.

I agree with u, but it means u better have pretty much aced the other Sims. If you do crappy on 3 Sims you should hope 1 is pretest too. Like u said, you better have done well on the MCQ’s too. However, it is hard to gauge what score you will receive from these exams. Like others have said, if you felt like the exam was really difficult but u feel like u also earned a decent amount of points (at least 60-70% correct) then you probably passed. But, u never know!!!

    Goodluck everyone!!!

I agree – For the exams I didn't study for SIMS (took BEC in March-at the time no SIMS). The only SIMS that I really struggled with were REG (where I thought it was possible I got zero of them correct). But my MCQ was strong and I think that was the deciding factor between a pass/fail.

There isn't a review course that can best predict what each candidate will see on the exam. Study the material (lectures and notes) and then work on MCQ to solidify material.
