WARNING: This is just pure guessing!

So I think I’ve found a way to possibly tell if you’ve passed a section before score release. If you log in to the NASBA site (must be using Chrome or Firefox) and view your ‘Home’ page as if you were going to resubmit an application. From that screen where your table of previous scores are, right click anywhere and select, ‘View Page Source’. Now go down to where the coding for the bottom table is located (you can do this by pressing Ctrl + ‘F’ and entering in the section abbreviation – i.e. AUD for auditing). Each row in the table is defined with curly brackets and separated by a comma. Within each curly bracket there should be information similar to the following: “id”:”xxx811″,”create_date”:”06 Dec 13″,”update_date”:”16 Feb 14″,”status”:”Submitted”,”description”:”AUD” (ID # redacted). Once you’re at the part of the table that gives you the information pertaining to each section, I think if you have an ID number that means you passed at least one section on that Notice to Schedule. In order to test this, it would be beneficial to have someone who passed two sections on one NTS to confirm whether or not they have two ID numbers in that section of the coding. Also, it would help if someone who did not pass any section of a particular NTS to verify that they have no ID number. Can anyone confirm either of these situations?

I think the section you are referring to is about the CPA Exam Applications table, and not the CPA Exam Status Table. It looks like the ID number is just referring to the NTS, but not each Section ID.

I wish this worked, but I don't think it does.

You need someone who failed a section to test it. I have not gotten my score for REG yet, but I just tested your theory and I have two ID numbers, one for REG and one for FAR. So I don't know honestly. I think they would have the score though because the page was updated after I took my exam.

@NYCaccountant Thanks! And yes, that's the other scenario that I was wanting to test. If you have two IDs for one NTS, that would suggest passing two sections. In my case, I had an NTS with three sections but only one ID, I just wasn't sure if the ID was just issued once all sections were taken and only one was issued OR if the ID corresponded to passing sections OR if the ID related to something completely different.

I have two NTS, two ID numbers. I register for each exam one at a time. I don't know why I keep doing that.

” If you have two IDs for one NTS, that would suggest passing two sections.”

For the 3 exams I previously passed, I took them under one NTS. I have ONE section ID, but passed three. I don't think you get multiple section IDs for passing multiple sections under one NTS, it just keeps getting updated as NASBA receive notification that you sat for (or perhaps passed) a section.
