    I will be taking FAR for the 4th (!!!!) time on July 27th. My first scores were 60, 66, and most recently 68. I’m glad to see my scores going up instead of down but I am *TIRED* of taking this exam. On my initial run through Wiley questions the past three days doing 20-60 questions from each sections I scored an average of a 55~65 on each section without any review.

    I don’t want to sit through another Home Study course (I’ve done Becker, Roger and Yaeger) because I’ve done all of them and I’m at the point where I can predict their lectures. I’ve picked up Roger CRAM because I think I only need a quick skim to get my mind fully back on to all the topics again and he doesn’t make me fall asleep. I’ve also decided to stop using Wiley questions and switch to Gleim questions instead and trying out cpareviewforfree. I was also thinking of getting the Gleim simulation wizard.

    Here was my last score report:

    =====

    Framework and Standards – Weaker

    F/S Accounts – Weaker

    Specific Transactions/Events – Comparable

    Governmental – Stronger

    Not-For-Profit – Stronger

    MCQ – Weaker

    Simulation – Weaker

    ======

    Any suggestions of what to do to study? I was recently laid off so I have all the time in the world to study for this exam and I really want it to be my 4th and final time.

    Well it sounds like you've watched plenty of lectures! I'd say instead of watching them all over again, intensely read the chapters. Plus bang out as many MCQ's as you can, all of Becker's questions, and as many Wiley questions as you can. Looks like you're almost there! Do you feel since this is your 4th time that you have started to memorize the questions?

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    I failed FAR four times. I ended up getting a 52, 66, 73, and a 61. It was tough. I finally started taking things seriously and finally passed last window with an 89.

    I would suggest you start taking notes. You should be watching the lectures ONCE, but SLOWLY. Take a lot of notes when watching them. Your notes should be very through and informative, so next time, all you need to do is go over your notes when review the materials rather than watching videos over and over. Your own notes will be better than anything out there because they were written and organized by you.

    Based on your scores, it seems as though you haven’t retained much from the lectures. You’ve learned something from them, but not nearly enough to pass. Rather than asking you to watch another HomeStudy course and waste over 51 hours of your time, I would suggest you watch the CRAM videos, whether it be Roger or Yaeger. Make this the LAST time you watch them. Buy a notebook and take lots and lots of notes. I can’t emphasize this enough. A lot of people have recommended watching the videos at 1.3x speed, but I must disagree. Watch them at a slower speed. That way, you’re able to jot down as much as you can from the lectures.

    After you finish watching the videos and taking notes, keep reading your notes over and over again while doing practice questions. Read your notes, do a bunch of questions, read your notes, do a bunch of questions, etc. etc…. Keep doing this over and over and eventually the material will stick and you’ll finally realize why you got the grades that you previously got!

    Good luck!

    I am in a similar situation. I have taken FAR twice using Yaeger homestudy. I watched all of the lectures the first time and only rewrote my notes on the second time and dedicating significant time to the MCs. Both times I got a 61.

    I think I need to change material, but trying to determine if I should take a cram or a full comprehensive class.

    Any thoughts? Cram or full course? Who would you suggest?
