Thanks, gottagetmycpa.
For BEC & REG, Becker is all I used. I guess it works, because I did pass. However, Becker didn't prepare me well at all for the REG sims. I have no idea how I passed REG given my performance on those sims. And there was a ton of material on the BEC exam that wasn't covered in Becker. BEC was like the twilight zone. I really had to use my experience, my common sense, and educated guessing on that exam. If you have time to supplement Becker with another prep course for BEC & REG, I recommend you do that.
I used Becker for AUD, and I believe that it prepared me well. However, prior to studying for AUD, I took an auditing course at school in which we used the Gleim CPA review book, so I had some practice using Gleim.
As for knowing when I'm ready, I've never felt ready for any of the parts. I just study as much as I can in the time I've allotted and then go in hoping that I know enough to score a 75 or better. Here's my basic approach:
Watch the lectures (although they are pretty useless).
Read every Becker chapter & take extensive notes.
Work through all Becker questions twice or until I score in the 80s or 90s on them.
Do each sim at least once.
Do all Becker Final Review questions & sims.
Review my notes at least once.
Since I felt that Becker hadn't prepared me well for BEC & REG, my plan was to supplement Becker with Gleim for FAR. Given that I'm not even done with Becker yet, and my exam is on 8/29, I'm not sure I'll actually have time to use Gleim too.
AUD - 95, BEC - 85
REG - 85, Rawrrrrrr FAR - 88
Used Becker for all sections.
