    Hi everyone!

I’ve read that BEC scores that are “borderline passing” have their writing section reviewed by human graders. The first time I took BEC a few months ago, my score was released in the “subsequent release” and I received a painful 72. I took it for the second time last month and SHOULD have received my score last week on November 21st, but didn’t. I am assuming I’m in the second wave of scores again. Do I have any hope of passing this? I have my REG retake in a few days and I was REALLY hoping to know going in to it that I had passed BEC.

Is there is anyone out there who passed BEC when they were part of the subsequent score release? Or, does anyone know what the chances of passing could be? Thank you.

    FAR: 2/11 - 81
    AUD: 4/11 - 81
    REG: 5/11 - 66, 11/11 - Waiting on last score.
    BEC: 7/11 - 72, 10/11 - 77

I'm not sure what a moderator's duties are and I guess maybe I saw the thread and wasn't all too excited about the words of wisdom he has here. I understand sarcasim and can appreciate it but when you knock someone down for asking a question …. then get grief for it …then continue and boast about it, it may tend to give the wrong impression.

This is supposed to be a forum where people feel comfortable saying what they need to. How is the creator supposed to feel comfortable on A71 when they're told “Seriously though, there is such a thing as a bad question.” That's his quote.

Dry humor is great. Putting people down is not.

I stand by my position. I mean, c'mon, the title of the thread is “Has anyone passed BEC being in the subsequent score release?” This implies that the op considers it a possibility that the 2nd wave of score releases could come and not one person passes. I dont understand why the op would need a person to say, “Yeah, I passed in the 2nd release” to feel comfortable that people do in fact pass in the 2nd release.

As a moderator, I am really no different than any other poster on here. I monitor for exam disclosures, thats about it. Being a moderator has nothing to do with my thoughts or views.

btw – I hope @marisa passes too. I hope everybody passes.

I understand your point about the question but sometimes we must keep our inner thoughts to ourselves. 🙂

Ok, I'm done. 🙂 Best of luck to everyone!

Mini is a mod because he's active and helps to watch for exam disclosure, which I very much appreciate.

I think the poster was just wanting assurance from others who have been in Wave 2 and still passed, which is completely understandable.

When I was taking the exam, I literally followed NASBA's extension numbers in order trying to get a rep from a different region to give me a “hint”. The exam makes you crazy and sometimes a little reassurance is all it takes to get you through the day and stay sane.

In the first score release this window, I was in the subsequent BEC release and I passed with a 76.

@ Jeff Thanks for watching the comments! I agree, the exam brings out the crazies in people a little like Black Friday!

@goodluck, actually I think that was me (for the record, still a waste of time). Yeah, I think Mini, myself, and MLA, among other posters on this forum enjoy using sarcasm as a virtual slap to shake someone back to reality. Sure, everyone has concerns about this exam, but it is pretty obvious that not everyone fails in a subsequent release. The OP isn't an idiot, they just asked a silly question…nothing wrong with that, but certainly warrants a little sarcasm…I mean, hey, it keeps us young 🙂 And I mean, honestly, if someone is so thin-skinned that they can't handle a bit of sarcasm without falling to pieces, the accounting profession in general probably isn't for them. Everyone has their own ways of giving advice, but it's good to have someone around who isn't afraid of telling the truth (no matter how brutal). In the end, however, the goal is that everyone passes.

fair enough but sarcasm has its time and place. I'm actually extremely sarcastic myself but a71 is supposed to be a haven of support and encouragement, and I know to keep the sly remarks to a minimum.

How long did you all have to wait? A full week or less?

    Reg - 2/24/12 passed
    BEC - 4/3/12 passed
    FAR - round 2 7/1/12 passed
    AUD - round 2 11/01/12

an old post. This thread makes me a little sad. It became nothing about the initial question.

Usually it is less than a week. I got my BEC score (in Cali) on score day of NASBA release for everyone, which I thought was extremely weird, as California is known to get their score 1 day later than everyone else and given this was a BEC score.

Sit tight, and the good news will come.

I guess having my score held for review is better than failing right away. It also looks like the OP passed in the end.

I am taking AUD friday would love to know, just so I stop obsessing over it.

    Reg - 2/24/12 passed
    BEC - 4/3/12 passed
    FAR - round 2 7/1/12 passed
    AUD - round 2 11/01/12

    Using Becker, wiley, and NINJA.

They could withhold your score for any reason. It is as Jeff said, someone's score got held for a subsequent period and got a 90. This wait syndrome is so unhealthy! Stop worrying and focus. With that said, I need to get out of here. I too have to study for AUD!

From now on, I am going to schedule each and everyone one of my test at the very end of each testing window to avoid this pain

    (I lost sleep too)

Funny story, my friend is taking the Series 6 test. As soon as he hits a submit button, the results show right away. Lucky bastard.
