Background; I’ve raised interviewing to an art form. Researched endlessly. Have what I believe to be the perfect clothing, purse (yes it matters in an interview), answers to the common questions, and a dozen or so questions to ask the interviewer. I’ve probably spent more time studying how to interview than I have for any section of the CPA. That said, like the CPA, any extra help counts.

The challenger: CPA candidate with 11 years experience in a service/construction co. 4 years in mfg/govt co. All accounting except payroll.

The challenge: Director of finance for a huge medical practice with 5 locations.

Once got asked “What's 7 to the 4th power? Feel free to think out loud.”

After going the long way the interviewer explained to me that my way was fine but he asks that question to see if anyone goes:

    7×7 is 49 which is 1 less than 50.

    50*50 is 2500.

Take off 50, Take off 49.

    2401
