    Well,

I just missed REG for the second time in a row. Both times had a 73. I missed in 2010 and then used the same 2010 materials to study for 2011.

I have been using Becker. I did the classes back in September 2010 and since then have just been using the review materials since then.

At this point I feel frustrated because I have been so close on two occasions.

I am definitely going to update my Becker stuff.

What would you guys recommend? Buying the Ninja materials for Reg? Anything in particular? I basically have 2 shots now before my AUD credit expires and really just need to make up 2 points.

Sorry to hear that, you should pass it next time. If you can, you should purchase the 2011 materials, that could make a difference between a 74 and a 75, true story.

Forget about paying more money for Becker. You have reached your point of diminishing returns with Becker. Change review programs! Becker is not very good for working complicated tax problems. Becker is very good for memorization, such as for AUD and REG business law. You need to be able to do the most complicated tax problems in your sleep, especially corporate and estate taxes..

Some very good programs for REG taxes are Yaeger Home Study, Yaeger Cram and Bob Monette's (Bisk) Hot Spots for taxes. You can also use Gleim and your AICPA REG reports to nail down your weak areas in taxes.

You can conquer REG! Do not give up. Where there is a will, there is a way.

You can get the Becker updates free online. You can also get more questions to work from “CPA Review For Free.” Additionally, I think that the Ninja materials would be a definite plus. The bottom line is do whatever you have to do to pass.

I bought both Yaeger Home Study and Becker for REG. I passed REG on the first try. However, I should have failed REG because I did not use Becker and I only studied taxes with Yaeger and Bob Monette's Hot Spots.

    Good Luck!
