So I stayed up till 1am and got my test results for my first ever CPA Exam, BEC. I poured in 8 long weeks of studying to get……a 72. I now have AUD on the 8th of Sep and feel like there is no chance that I will pass as I only had 6 weeks to study for this. So frustrated here at work right now. Real question though, I have AUD on Sep 8th, REG on OCT 22nd, and FAR on Dec 3. Should I try and cram/re-take BEC in the mean time while studying for these other sections or should I wait till Jan?

    BEC: 7/31/16 (Awaiting Results)
    AUD: 9/8/16
    REG: 10/22/16
    FAR: 12/3/16

Or Option 3: Should you postpone REG and FAR to make time for a BEC retake?

    I vote Option 3. 🙂

Prior to receiving your BEC score, how were you feeling about AUD – fairly well-prepared or fairly un-prepared? If you were feeling confident for AUD till you saw your score for BEC, then maybe continue with AUD as planned. Sometimes a fail can shake your confidence but it shouldn't as much as it does. However, if you're truly unprepared for AUD, and you knew that even before you failed BEC, then push AUD back to the start of October.

Then schedule BEC for a few weeks after AUD. When you do a retake, you don't just need to get the 3 extra points; you have to get all 75 again, so give it adequate study-time. If you take AUD Sep 8, then Oct 15 might be enough study time, or maybe more like Oct 22/29. If you take AUD at the start of Oct, then BEC should be start of Nov to middle of Nov.

Then schedule REG for 6-8 or even 10 weeks after the BEC retake, whenever you think you'll be able to be ready for it, but only take it if you passed AUD; otherwise, replace REG with an AUD re-take.

So on and so forth. Only add in REG or FAR after you've passed AUD or BEC.

I say postpone FAR and REG too. IMO you have too many exam close together unless studying for the CPA is full time. But definety give BEC another go. You're close, so the knowledge is there. Also, make sure you test at your best time of day. I'm really not a morning person, so I schedule during the midday. It gives me time to relax brain, nerves and etc. Good luck!
