1 year of work experience under the supervision of a CPA is need.

You should be getting something in the mail by August which will tell you what you need to do in order to get your CPA certification.

BTW- Congrats on passing all 4 parts! You did it!! You're done with these exams forever!!!!

U can download the forms. Form 4 and.form 4b off the NYS education website…when you get the Congratulatory letter.from nasba with all.your scores, it only provides you with the links to the site. Don't bother waiting for this imaginary paperwork :).

    https://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/

Click on the initial license link on the left scroll down to experience requirements, and download the form 4 and 4 b.

@Herbieherb – Thank you, filling out the forms as we speak.

Getting my life back is great, although i keep checking this site every other day..anyway…

@midaline – Thanks. I used Gleim for all four sections. The only other study material i used were Jeff's ninja notes on FAR and REG. They are decent as they cover the major topics in a more simplified form, making certain content a little easier to understand. Everyone has a different learning style, so what worked for me may not work for you. For FAR i studied for 2 months, usually around 15-20 hours a week. 1. I read each chapter and completed the questions in the book for each section (taking detailed notes of areas that weren't sinking in) 2. After going through the book, i answered MCQ's from Gleims question bank software for each chapter, over and over again. 3. I used Jeff's ninja notes for review and re-read my notes and continued to answer MCQ's until test day.

Gleim does cover a lot of crap, try to learn the major concepts more than anything (NFP and Gov't are important), if you get stuck on one or two areas don't worry about it too much, as you will only receive one or two questions on the topic (usually, its impossible to predict what questions you will actually get on your test but from my experience this was the case).

    Longest post ever (for me)

I hope it helped a little and Good Luck, you can do it.

Depends on what your goals are! I know in MA it is not necessary to have the year of experience under a licensed CPA. You don't get a “full” CPA license until you do but you can get a license that gives you all of the rights and priveledges of a CPA except that you may not sign off an opinion on an audit using your CPA credentials until you have received a full license.

Meaning, I personally have no intention whatsoever of going into public accounting. I want to be an accounting manager or a controller. For the purposes of those positions I can be a CPA without having to have the audit experience.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

@mla1169 yes that's true. I'm sitting under MA as well and going for a non-reporting license.

I've heard Delaware the rules are similar but haven't checked on that

@herbieherb, how long did it take you from the moment you received your last passing score to the moment you received your CONGRATULATORY LETTER? 6-8wks or so? THANKS AND CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!

@MmarianoB Thanks Glad you're still on the site that's exactly the info I was looking for.

I couldn't find many posts where Gleim users shared their experiences and study plans.

    Enjoy your accomplishment.
