Just got my mark for REG – my last part & passed! I’m posting a copy of my post right after I took REG on my study materials. Hope that it helps someone pass!

Let me write which preparation courses I used. I used Becker lectures with partial mcq. I used heavily the Wiley book and test bank CD for mcq, since I think that their answers are much better explained then Becker. Also, I think that it matters a lot that the Wiley questions are arranged and broken down by small topics. This way you can nail down every topic separately. Becker throws you, sometimes, 20 pages of lectures and then mixes up the mcq. Wiley, on the other hand, takes every small topic and categorizes the questions based on that. Becker should really give you such an option to sort the questions by small topics.

One small secret is the Kaplan flashcards. The one who wrote it is a genius. They break down the hardest of subjects into peace meal parts to fully understand it. They make you understand everything. They don’t necessarily use big numbers to explain things. They use small simple numbers, and drive the point home. It’s not expensive, and I would recommend everyone to use it and go through it.

As one writer wrote, since it’s my last test, when I will see the results from this test, I’ll cry. Either if I failed I’ll cry. Or if I passed I’ll for sure cry from joy – to be over all this!

You posted some very good insights that you learned the hard way. I too liked the Kaplan flashcards a lot. I also thought that the Wiley questions were very good. I had one simulation in AUD and one very complicated question in BEC on my exams that came out of the Wiley book. Yaeger had reviewed these questions.

I really do miss studying for the CPA exams. I am the only crazy person who would take the exams again just for the fun of it!

I will be opening my own accounting practice in a few months. I am enjoying every minute of it. I am venturing out on my own since no CPA firm has offered me a job. Unfortunately, I will not have a CPA license because I cannot get a job with a CPA firm. However, I am a salesperson, as well as an accountant, and I know that I can start and run an accounting practice.
