Needless to say, I despise FAR. You can probably see by my scores why that is the case. When I am watching the lectures and working through MC with Phil and Cindy, everything goes well. Everything makes sense. Then, when left to my own faculties, I just feel overloaded with information. I’m still trying to figure out how to make FAR seem more manageable. It just covers so much more material than the others. Ok, I’m done venting.

I couldn't agree more! I like accounting and even the individual topics within FAR aren't so bad…but when you pile all of them together and ask me about some complicated lease calculation where I have to recall some random exception, I want to scream! My entire exam was like that and one of my SIMS was totally off the wall! Asking me not to do something the way I learned to do it confused the heck out of me!

I wish you the very best with your upcoming exam. The good thing about you taking it so many times is that you have a far better working knowledge of the info than I do…that will pay off in practice when you know what is going on and the rest of us have to go look stuff up!

I've been having the same problem throughout my whole review process (coming up on the end of Becker's FAR review this week).

I go through the lectures and think “great, I can do this!” Then I get to the questions and immediately the vulgarities begin flowing from my mouth because a.) it was never covered in the lecture and/or text b.) the question is so vaguely worded that the answer they want you to arrive at isn't clear until you see the explanation or c.) it's just too darn hard.
