Using Becker and just “finished” through F2. F1 wasn’t that bad, until i reached F2 and my motivation plummeted. I feel like the whole exam could be given right now and I only finished 2 lectures! For the supplemental questions on F2, I don’t even answer them bc it’s a waste of time for me cause i’ll do terrrrrrible. i just fly through and pick any answer then look at the results and read the reasoning behind the answer. I take the exam October 24th, I know that is ample amount of time…any thoughts? tips?

Also, what is a good weekly strategy to use, some of the upcoming weeks? i’m going to have to start finishing two lectures a week (I work part-time and go to school on tuesday nights)

Oh, well this isn't going to help you at all, but I took FAR in July and left the exam with an hour to spare CRYING like a child. Now I'm really upset at myself for not giving it my all. Definitely going to score in the 50's for SURE. Retaking end of October. I am curious to see what kind of grade will result from such cowardness..

Honestly.. I just didn't feel that prepared going in and I psyched myself out. FAR really isn't that bad of an exam. Yes it is a lot of material, but the actual content is not too difficult. Keep at it, keep going over the material. It will become easier. Make sure to do frequent progress quizzes and reviewing your notes so you can stay familiar with all of the material, and not forget everything by the time you hit chapter 9. Good luck Moose it will get better!

2 lectures a week is definitely manageable. Watch each topic within F1, F2 etc. separately. After viewing and highlighting, go back and reread it making your own notes as you go along, then complete the HW questions. Slowly but surely you will make it through the entire textbook. I felt so confident when I finished F1 and felt defeated during F2. But keep your chin up, eventually it will all begin to make sense. The MCQs are your best bet for learning the material, don't discount them just yet. Once you get through the textbook, go through it one more time and reread the notes you made and everything will begin to click, I promise! I used the Wiley testbank after making it through the Becker book and the extra MCQs were so valuable. Good luck!

    FAR - 87 (7/14/11)
    AUD - 94 (8/31/11)
    REG - 92 (10/19/11)
    BEC - 88 (11/30/11)

For me, I know doing 2 lectures / chapters? a week would not work. That would mean that before the test chapter 1 would have been read 4 weeks prior. I watched all lectures in one horrible weekend and made all the notes that the lectures suggest. I then read each chapter slowly and carefully. Then I worked problems for 4-5 days. After that I read the entire book again but much quicker than my first reading. Two days before the exam I did my final cram which involved reviewing everything I was least comfortable with and reading all the highlights, mnemonics, and pass keys. Basically my goal was to make sure that no material in my head was older than 4 or 5 days by exam day.

FAR seemed miserable for sure, but for what it's worth, I'd rather study for FAR 10 times over before doing AUD. I'm alone on that one, but I'm studying for AUD right now and I HATE IT.

    BEC: 87 (7/13/11)
    FAR: 86 (8/31/11)
    AUD: 99 (10/6/11)
    REG: 88 (11/30/11)
    Ethics: 100
    (Illinois)

Used Becker for all four parts. Supplemented it with Wiley Test Bank for FAR and REG (HIGHLY recommended) and NINJA notes.
