I did a portion of the Becker FAR Final Exam 1. Oh my, what a confidence killer. I sure as heck hope that the actual exam isn’t that difficult. I feel like I’m never going to pass FAR. 🙁

    Trex,

Oh boy. Don't let that get to you. I feel like the Becker Final Exams are ten times harder than their mcq's. It can be a confidence killer. I have heard some people avoiding them and just using the “simulated exam” or “progress test” option in Becker.

Don't let it take you off your study plan. Dust yourself off and keep moving. You can do it!!

I feel that Becker itself is harder than the exam. Don't let it get you down. We're almost there!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

Thanks, guys, for the support. I'm feeling pretty awful. I've been studying for this for many months, but I don't feel at all ready. I'm just terrible at memorizing volumes of nonsense. I don't know how anyone passes this. Maybe I'm just tired and stressed right now.

I've got to pass this. I don't want to deal with the consequence of not passing it.

T-rex, (did you notice I crowned you Trex in the other post? From a dinosaur to engineered decking!, sorry about the typo!!)

By the looks of your other scores, I think you will do fine. A large part of this process is the exam taking. Knowing how to navigate that out-of-left-field question and that sim that they wrote in Vietnamese (and forgot to translate).

Keep drilling the mcq's. When I got tired of that I would read the Becker notecards, I just kept going. You are probably just feeling a bit burnt out, maybe cut out an hour early tonight and hit it harder tomorrow? Just a suggestion.

Ok, really procrastinating getting back to A4-ugh. Audit is calling!

    Ciao!

Thanks, yankee! I probably am just burnt. I've decided to review the answers to the final exam questions rather than take the exams. I sure don't need any more hits to my confidence.

I think we need a Trex. We used to have a Tex, but I haven't seen her around in awhile. T-rex, Tex, and Trex would be awesome.

    Good luck with Audit!

Don't worry about it. I wasn't doing too well on the Becker questions and I agree that Becker sometimes seems harder than the exams. Just keep practicing and don't let getting things wrong get to you!

Thanks, Acct. I do well on the PassMaster questions, but the final exam ones are intimidating. Did you take and pass FAR using Becker?

My insomnia has kicked into high gear. It's now almost 1:00 a.m. and I'm supposed to be up for work at 5:45 a.m. Oh boy.

    Hey, Mini!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one still up!

You did great on FAR! I hope you do just as well on all of the others!

Having to memorize all of the JEs, formulas, and mnemonics is killing me! There are just too damn many of them.

You'll do fine. Just remember you have a ton of wiggle room from your previous exams. You know how your performance report shows “stronger” in most of the areas? All you have to do is score comparable on all the sections and you are golden. Really the exam is just about going out there and beating 55% of the people taking the exam. Trust me, there are a TON of people taking this exam that shouldnt be. I think we will both be fine as we finish up these tests. Good luck!

Okay, thank you, Mini! Good luck to you, too! I hope we'll both be done really soon.

I actually thought that, while immensely difficult, the FAR final exams (or any Becker final exams, for that matter) were an integral part of my success. It really showed me the toughest questions/sims/fact patterns that I was likely to see on the actual CPA exam. Now that being said, don't let a poor score get you down, they are supposed to be insanely difficult! I got a 67 on the first one, followed by a 75 on the second one and I still did ok! You'll be fine! Get ready to be done with the CPA exam!!! woohooo!!! Time to go out, find a paleontologist, and have some fun! 🙂 Good luck!

    @B-ball,

Thinking about celebrating “the fun way” with the paleontologist will help keep me motivated. 😉 Woo hoooooooooo! Lord knows, there hasn't been any celebrating going on over here in a loooooooooooooong time. Thanks, CPA exam.

I've still have four full-days to study before my exam. I don't know what in the hell I'm going to focus on, but I'll figure it out. I've got to do this! I've just got to. I want to spend time with the paleontologist and not with Becker.

Perhaps I'll revisit the final exams when I'm feeling more rested.

I ended up calling in sick for tomorrow since I can't sleep. This means I'll have to work on Thursday, which was supposed to be my day off. Oh well, this may help break up my studying a bit.

Goodnight, B-ball! I'm going to attempt to go to sleep again. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't freak out, I took the 2nd becker final exam yesterday and did bad, way worse than the first one. And then I freaked out b.c I am taking FAR tomorrow. BUT I realized that the exam pointed out a lot of small rules and areas I was slowly forgetting. I am reviewing the answers and returning to my notes to do a review. Look at both Final exams, I thought they focused on different topics to help cover it all.

    Good Luck!
