How do you bounce back from it? I just found out that I didn’t pass AUD and needless to say, I am devastated. I am currently studying for FAR at the end of this window. I was hoping to get some motivation from an AUD pass. I work in tax so I am taking this extra hard. I won’t be able to study for a few months starting in January. FAR would have been my last section

I just got a 74 on FAR – lost my BEC credit – and losing my REG credit in December.

Went from 3 done to 1 done.

You push through and get it done. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next month. But keep trucking head down

I'm in the same boat – failed REG, FAR would've been my last section, can't study starting mid January through about April. My plan is to retake REG 1/9 and spend the holidays studying full time since I have some time off work. It sucks but I am desperate for this to be over with so that is my motivation!

@rossch201 sorry to hear that! but I admire your perseverance and hope that I can begin to look at it that way and get back on track here!

@allison213 I couldn't agree more! My plan is to give FAR everything I have in a couple weeks and then start restudying for an AUD retake for early January. I just want the misery to end

Appreciate the responses and anyone else that has any advice on how to recover from a fail

I know how you feel!!! I also found out that I didn't pass Bec with 73. This was my third attempt (70,74,73). If I don't pass next time, I will lose my far credit in feb 2017. I have two young kids at home (they are 2 and 4), and it has been so hard for me not able to focus on them. I feel so guilty.

I seriously thought that I could make 75 this time, and all done and happily ever after. I even filled out the application for lisence!

Thank you for sharing your feeling. I feel so weak, and can't even get up the bed since I saw the failing score. Good luck on your far exam! Far is much easier than Bec from my experience. You can do it 🙂

@eaglescpa – I don't have much advice since I just failed FAR for the 2nd time. I am equally devastated, but I suppose there's only 2 choices: stop OR keep going. I work in tax also and January through April will be impossible. But we have to give it all we can in the next few weeks and try again. Focus on FAR, don't even think about AUD right now. Then once you sit in December, jump right back into where you left off with AUD while it's still somewhat fresh. Don't give up yet!

@Mura,I know being close is no consolation since you want a “pass” but with 2 months before February, I have confidence you can score those extra points needed.

    FAR – 63,64
    REG- 12/7/16
    BEC – Q1
    AUD – Q2

I didn't sleep until 1:30 am this morning. I was waiting my audit score to pop on my laptop. I am so screwed. I got 73 on FAR and I got 72 on Audit. I don't know how I should study for audit anymore. Because I am pretty sure I understand 95% of the content in the becker. Currently I am studying for BEC, I registered BEC just right after I took audit. I can't focus on BEC at all now. Once I opened the software I am thinking about the failure of FAR AND AUDIT!! Feel life is so screwed!!!

I want you ALL to know, you WILL push through. I was bad with my studying with FAR so I PUSHED FAR and I didn't give myself enough time to study for REG. So around 6 months ago, I found out that I failed FAR, then a month later, I failed REG.

You WILL pass this test. Don't doubt yourself. Take the day off to gather and start again tomorrow.

@hasy, what did you did different to pass FAR?

I got a 72 the first time, so I knew it exactly why I didn't pass. Also, I didn't finish the all the questions from NINJA. The first time, I glossed over certain areas that were very journal entry heavy: Stockholder's Equity, Consolidations, Cash Flows.

Second time, I FORCED myself to learn journal entries and how it would trace back to the PL Statements. I went through EACH section with a FINE-TOOTH comb. I did not leave a section until I fully understood it. I may not memorize everything, but at least I would understand when I see the problem. I did a J/E for each MCQs. The week before, I even wrote out all the journal entries (not as long as you think) that could come up on the exam.

For SIMs though, it's something you need to see for yourself. I felt like I had a decent grasp of the material so I wasn't really rattled by them. I did about 25% of them in NINJA. FAR is the one test where you just need to understand the concepts. I feel with the other tests, one could get by memorizing. But that's not possible with FAR.

Found out I failed REG today and trying not to be crushed by it. Kinda had a feeling, but still had some hope I would pass. I came close, but no cigar. I focused way too much on insignificant details and business law. Not next time. I will be doing non-stop mcq to iron out all my weak areas.

I have BEC scheduled for December 5th and was hoping it would be my last exam, but now I won't be done until next year. This is the first exam I've failed, not a good feeling. But have to move on and not slack off.

@Mura BEC also gave me this scare and was so happy to barely jump over the 75 fence. I got nearly the same score as you 70-74-76. I used both Wiley and Becker.

I remember thinking that BEC questions had changed a lot compared to the past questions. Most of the questions are more like knowing how to apply the concept in real life, rather than sheer definitions or straight-up-to-the-point questions. Even some information systems questions was more than just definitions but application of the concept.

My little advice would be to focus more on practicing with the most recent questions and study whatever you can including research on the Internet to understand the concept and applications of what you study.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you to pass next time you take it.
