Failed AUD with a 29… Any advice from those who passed? - Page 2

So I got my score yesterday for AUD and I received a 29 on the exam, yep must be the worst score you all have seen.

But honestly, my failure was expected and I am not disappointed because I knew I wasn’t prepared and I did not study effectively. AUD is especially hard because it is so subjective and does not have straight forward answers, despite people saying it is the easiest exam.

However, I am very shocked at my extremely low score, and I want to get more advice from people who passed, preferably people who failed and then passed AUD. How did you pass and what did you change from your failure to result in a passing score?

I think I am planning to do is buy NINJA, and use Becker + NINJA for my studying when I start again.

Thanks all. 🙂 (don’t feel too bad for me haha, i knew i was going to fail)

Congrats to all the people who did pass their exams this quarter though!

It’s hard to give you an honest and thoughtful piece of advice when I know you did not take this exam seriously. When you’re ready to take this exam seriously, then let’s discuss.

Some great advice here. Glad you asked.

I need to pass before busy season.

I failed audit with a 73, and three weeks later passed with an 84 (I think? I forget. Of course I remember my failing score…). It took me failing for me to be honest with myself. There were a few areas that I thought were boring and hard (sampling was one of them!) and I thought it was a small enough part of the exam that I would be okay. After I failed I went back and redid the lectures and multiple choice in the areas I knew I skimmed/didn't focus on and learned them. You have to be honest with yourself and put in the time even if it seems like a waste of time to learn it all. These exams are no joke, it comes down to being realistic with yourself and not skipping sections. You've got this!

Revisiting this thread after failing and I plan on retaking in a couple of weeks. Kinda sad to see that people are ripping me apart when I am a horrible test taker. I definitely could have put more effort in, but I definitely put time into studying and took studying seriously.

I hope to get at least a higher score this time around and thank you for all the replies.

I disagree with taking FAR first. Take BEC first. It really is the easiest one because it is the least material to cover. I think you should build your confidence by taking BEC and hopefully passing it. Also, use Becker. It is the most effective study material. If you do all of the Becker course and do not pass, it is not the study materials that is the problem. It just may be the way you are reviewing or maybe you are not really understanding and more or less memorizing, which is bad because the questions will change on the test.

In all fairness… this is a quote.
“my failure was expected and I am not disappointed because I knew I wasn't prepared and I did not study effectively”

You sort of did make it seem like you did not study enough.
How many hours, how many MCQs?

    Hi Lys,

Only two people have said something rude but don't let these people get to you. Just keep going. I failed far twice but I won't let it get to me. Just keep trying 🙂 Will take a couple tries probably (happening with me rn and FAR lol) Just drill mcqs and sims but I would restart Becker. Focus on the hours you are studying to really study (no YouTube, phone, etc). Good luck!

Hate to say this, but AUD In my opinion was the most fundamental exam (not saying it’s the easiest). Reg is the definition of subjective. Advice would be to take your time studying it, and hit thousands of mcq (completely random) on all the material. I personally thought studying one topic helped learned another topic. Pretty intertwined, which you don’t see as much in the other exams. No sarcasm intended, but have fun with it and compete with yourself.

@Jd, not sure what you mean by saying REG is the “definition of subjective”? REG is not exactly logical (no surprise), but it is almost entirely clearly-defined rules, and the only difficulty is getting a good enough of grasp of them to pass.
