I spent 25 hours on one attempt..
I passed it on my 1st attempt since I checked every single question 4-5 times before submitting it LOL.
I heard it's a nightmare so I prepared myself for the worst.

Just make sure the answer you are choosing matches almost exactly to the study materials.
If I wasn't 99% sure the answer was right, I kept looking for the line or paragraph that would validate my answer.
May seem like overkill, but it worked!

There were 46 questions. I'm really at the point were I want to give up or apply to another state

I hope it's not full of true/false questions. I hate those. I'm waiting for the AICPA book to come in the mail. $120 plus $15 for shipping. What a ripoff.

I took the Washington State one recently and ugh half of it was true/false. Lots of poorly worded, vague, long sentences. Thank god I passed. Apparently you have to email the Board after failing to get a new login. That would suck.

I just took the AICPA ethics one and I felt the test was basically in the same order as the chapters. At least 25% of the questions were similar to CPA ethics questions which were still fresh in my mind.

I didn't find it to be that hard to find the answers in the book. I used the index a lot also to take me to the page for probably half of the questions.

I literally skimmed the book for about an hour and half and was done. I didn't read even 10% of it I imagine.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge about which Ethics Exam course to take in Ohio? I just passed all four CPA sections and I have to get this done too. Thank you.

Just to be clear, you don't need to do ethics until after you've been licenses. For example, I'm still missing three credits and experience so I don't have to worry about this yet right

@DZagt, I don't know if that is exactly true. I had to have it done before I was licensed or I would not have qualified. Now that I am licensed I must do 4 hours of ethics CPE every 3 years also.

    CanPassAttitude,

This is what worked for me, passed first try with a 90%. Print out the exam 3 times, and do it 3 times without looking at each one you have completed. After you are done, check all 3 tests against each other and if you answered any differently go and try and find the correct answer. I used a PDF so keyword search is your friend. Took about 12 hours in one sitting. Good luck, it's a major pain in the a$$.

I used the index and went through the questions in the orders of the chapters and found most of the answers almost word for word. I would just skim through until I found the header of the subject and read that section to find the answer. I didn't think it ended up being that hard, it didn't take me very long. Take your time and look each question up carefully.

You definitely have to have the ethics test passed to apply for your license.

    1) Print the course guide off the course materials stuff (assuming you take the online version) – it has the actual test – hard copy – on it. Print it, mark it up.

    2) save the course guide/materials on PDF format on your computer – you can search within them in the pdf

    3) GOOGLE! (Are you allowed to use google?)

Just an update that I passed the Ethics with 93% I'm very Happy! I printed out the entire packet and spent 4 hours yesterday going through the questions. If anyone needs “explanations” with these feel free to buzz me.
