Ok I have been looking online trying to find information about this ethics exam from the AICPA and haven’t been able to find much out. There are posts out there but none really answer my question. My question is simple….s it a requirement to pass this ethics exam (score of 90) to become licensed under you state or is it an AICPA requirement to become a member of the AICPA? I’m a WV candidate and I just took my last section (BEC) over the weekend. I called the WVBOA and the lady had no clue what I was talking about. Please somebody shed some light on this topic so I don’t waste $150 on the material if it is not needed.

    Thanks

    AUD - 87
    REG - 78
    BEC - 83

Hopefully someone will chime in, but I dont think that WV has an ethics exam requirement:

The ethics exam is a requirement of the state (since they issue the license) and not the AICPA.

It does have ongoing requirements once you become licensed:

Thanks for the reply Minimorty. I had a hunch that WV didn't require it but had no confirmation of that yet besides the WV Board of Accountancy lady not knowing about it.

I had visited the link you provided, but again I hadn't found definitive info. I'll just play it by ear and if they come back and say i need to take it then ill do it at that point.
