    Current situation: BEC-passed, REG-took (score TBD), Audit-currently studying (April 2017), FAR-May 2017

Is anyone else currently studying for another part – got their scores emailed to them – and don’t want to open it…

That is currently my feeling. I received the “Score Notification” email and have not checked the result to my REG exam. I’m constantly thinking about it but I have failed too many times to know that I will just get too upset to continue on studying.

Also – does anyone have a theory on when they receive the email if that has anything to do with if they passed or failed… Example: receive the email in the morning means you passed or maybe receiving in the morning means you failed…… this is me being CRAZY and looking into it….. should I just let my nerves go and check my scores?

I’m at the point where if I fail again I will just quit.

Hey OP – I feel you. I'm taking REG for the 5th – FIFTH – time in a few weeks. Just looking at the link in my toolbar for my portal gives me PTSD. It's the worst. Hang in there. Brett is right and that is usually what I try to hang on to – don't give up and let this be a waste of time. You can do this. It's also times like these I will reflect fondly of the perseverance of @CPA50 who took FAR 10 times. 🙂 Just keep on keepin' on.

    BEC - 74, 77
    FAR - 72, 71 (retake 7/29)
    REG - 69
    AUD - Q4 '16

While I wasn't afraid of seeing my score, I did tell myself even before score release day that I wouldn't look at it until some days afterward, simply because (A) I was about 90% sure I hadn't passed and (B) I had kinda moved on already and was thinking about the remaining three exams I still had to take, and didn't want to look back at the past. I did end up looking at the score on score release day after all, because everyone on here was bitching about “The California CPA website is down!!!!” LOL Cry me an ocean…. And I just figured what the hell, I don't care anyway. I pulled a 62 on FAR. I thought I'd gotten a 50. So, I was closer to a 75 than I'd predicted. I'd call that a victory! To quote Carol Brady, of a TV show called “The Brady Bunch”, “Sometimes when we lose, we win.” I couldn't have said it better.

Congratulations to you for passing and having the discipline to not open the score for this long!

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

    Dude……DO NOT QUIT.

I got my REG result email in my inbox at 3.30 pm just before I was about to shut down my computer and leave for an outoftown gettogether during a Thanksgiving weekend. I debated for a few minutes more so to try (yes try) to think coherently since I had not had proper sleep for the past few days as I was tense about this result.
Then I said ‘to hell with it' and opened it and I had passed with 83. I then closed my office door, put some music on my phone and danced.
Danced, as only a sleep deprived lunatic who saw some light at the end of the tunnel, could. So my friend, keep going.

I'm having a freak out right now – I know the scores went out last night and I DONT WANT TO CHECK. When I check, I will have two scores reveled to me….. this is standing in the way of me being a CPA or having to take them over. I AM SO NERVOUS
