    I passed all but Audit. Just took it Jan 30. Credit for FAR expires Jan 31 (If I passed AUD, I’m done, but I think I failed.)

    I’ve also been through 2 seperate, documented medical emergencies requiring inpatient stay (as in overnight) at the hospital for a total of 3 weeks between Dec.& Jan.

    I won’t receive score notice until March 8! Also that day the Board Members of Mass Public Accountancy are having a meeting, and on this date may consider my request for an extension of credit due to these unusual circumstances. Does anyone else have experience with a similar situation? Has Mass Board ever granted an extension of time past 18 months? I wasn’t ready to take the exam on Jan 30 due to health issues, but felt I had no other choice.

    My ignorance is partially to blame: I did try calling the listed phone number for the Mass Board of Public Accountancy listed on its website, but nobody answered the phone for 6 weeks, and a voicemail wasn’t set up! I also E-mailed but got no response. Finally, I came to realize I actually should’ve been contacting the Division o ProfessionalLicensure (DPL)

    I have no experience with MA, however my suggestion is to call the customer service, present your situation, and they will tell you what to do (they should).

    Speaking about an extension in general, I asked my instructor and she told me that she has never heard of one. She has been preparing CPA candidates for the last 30 years. It is a bad news. Personally, I believe it is possible. The customer service certainly, encouraged me to study and try to finish with my last exam. I was told by them that extensions are possible, but one must have valid reason(s)/support.

    Based on my NY Board these are the reasons for the extension:
    — medical conditions experienced by the applicant or a close family member;
    — the applicant's being called into active military duty;
    — a death in the applicant's family;
    — hardware or software failure at the testing site;
    — unexpected closure of the applicant's testing site due to inclement weather.

    On the other hand, please be positive about your score on March 8. You never ever know with these exams.

    Wish I could pass AUD for you and you BEC for me 🙂 Wish you all the best!!
