We talk about the same things every time there is a score release….

scores are not released by section number

scores are not released in alphabetical order

    – just because someone in your state got a score doesn't mean you did

    – generally if you don't get your score today you are borderline, although I have seen scores in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's day after or two days after score release

Sorry for sounding so blunt about it, just letting everyone know since there has been a lot of questions about how scores are released.

I just took audit yesterday and I'm already counting down until score release, just want to be done!

Y'all just be thankful you live in NASBA states. In AR, we have to wait on the snail mail and the State Board won't give out any information on what they've got or when they're mailing. Maybe the OH Loophole will be my friend.

Just for kicks, my section # starts with 426, not that it matters.

    FAR - 98; AUD - 94; REG - 95; BEC - Waiting;
Becker Scholarship for Success (I got it free :))

    AUD: 11/22

    @ Auditor

Why would BEC come out the second day if you are borderline when it is all multiple choice? Do they grade it on some sort of curve or something?

The AICPA's website very clearly states there is no curve. I fail to see how anyone can be “borderline” on BEC. There is nothing to hand grade. You either get the questions right or you get them wrong. Computers have method and order. They have to in order to work.

    Hello Auditor,

can you please further explain what you mean when you say that “when you don't get your score today you are borderline” This is my first time attempting a CPA exam so I am new to the process. Thanks!

I just took BEC last month and it is the first section of my exam. This whole journey has been crazy and I just started. Even the drama around the score release process is crazy. It is good to know I'm not the only one clicking away at the score button and checking updates on this board every 5 minutes instead of studying though lol.

    @ Auditor,

You are so right, but this is my first time hearing of it by section number. I think the nerves get the best of us, and sometime what you already know goes out of the window for no apparent reason. We just try to think of some logical reason why, with technology, things are not as smooth as they should/could be.

“borderline” = scores somewhere between 72-77, roughly. you're borderline passing. has nothing to do with a curve.

    FAR 78
    REG 78
    AUD 77
    BEC took 11/12

Thanks for the clarification Kricket. I did not think it was graded on a curve, but Auditor's comment had me wonderring(well, mostly hoping).

@ justwannapass- with new release i wouldn't say that if you didn't get your score today that it is borderline. However, if there happens to be a second release of BEC scores because sometimes they don't release all at once. These are typically borderline.

    Brunster,

I think traditionally all BEC are released at once but the others are not. I don't have the information about last quarters release but I think all 10k or so were released on day 1
