@Minnie: I'm from Texas too! Texas posts their scores at 4:00 am the day after Nasba gets them I believe (Like, NASBA gives them to the states, TX posts them overnight, and we get them the next morning.) For reference, last wave I got BEC on a Friday morning in September. Good luck! I'm sort of hoping FAR and REG aren't released until next week (sorry everybody!) because I sit for AUD on monday and I think I failed FAR, so I'd rather not find out right before taking another exam 🙂

    BEC - 8/16 - 89
    REG - 10/1 - 94
    FAR - 10/25 - 86 (Didn't finish the sims)
    AUD - 11/22 - 88

Thanks so much! I thought that was the case but wanted to verify. I'll be at the surgery center with my kid at 6AM and trying to decide when/if I should check my score. LOL

    AUD - 78
    BEC - 74 (retake Jan. 2011)

    @ Violetz

I think that if you wait until you are 100% ready for every exam that you need to sit for you will never become a CPA. Only about 10% of people who sit for the exam pass the first time around. You just have to sudy and do your best AND PRAY. The third time I took and finally passed FAR i got a 75. If I had waited until I was ready I would still be studying now. LOL

Prayingfor75 – I take AUD Monday, too (retake)! In the final review stages now — how are you preparing these last couple of days before the exam?

I got a 73 on my first Audit exam that I thought I passed. **Knock on wood** I already feel a little more prepared the second time around. But who knows – sounds like all the exams have been wacky lately. Maybe they're starting to throw in questions for 2011 as ‘test prep' questions?

What a beautiful day. Scores are coming out real soon. AICPA releases today. CA posts tomorrow.

I can then buy my new limited edition Nikes tomorrow as a reward. What a seriously happy day.

Now just gotta cross the fingers and hope to see two 75s+ for AUD and BEC tomorrow! 🙂

BUT I'M TAKING REG TOMORROW!! Do I check BEC score first?? Or do I take REG then rush home and check scores??

I'm thinking E &Y or Deloitte because of the overall feel that I got from research and talking to people. Wasn't brave enough to ask about benefits…

PwC seems to have a higher turnover rate. Outside of the big-4, Baker Tilly seems good. (Beers and Cutler is now part of Baker Tilly.)

Where did you get your stats from on pass rates? I had read/heard somewhere that about 1/3 people pass the CPA exam on their first try, not 10%, and that the overall pass rate (including people taking it multiple times) was around 50%, give or take. I'm not saying you're wrong, I was just wondering where you got that information, because the 1/3 people (actually a bit closer to 30%) that I heard came from what I consider to be a fairly reliable source, although I didn't do too much to confirm that data.

Does anyone know how Arizona works? It's not a Nasba state. If they are released by the AICPA today, when can I expect to get my score?

Yes, only 10-15% of the candidates pass ALL EXAMS on their first try. Also, first time test takers have around a 30% chance of passing EACH SECTION on their first try (compared to the 44-49% average).

Those are the stats for the whole CPA candidates population. We cant take a sample from another71 members, as it wouldn't be representative of the population. We are some of hardest working CPA candidates and we live, eat and breed CPA study materials as consequence of our commitment to pass this exam.

    FAR 88 - BEC 86 - AUD 90 - REG 85

WOW you sure are lucky, having four jobs to decide from! I don’t have a single one! It really pisses me off. I recently graduated this past May(with a MBA) and already completed two parts of my CPA(AUD & FAR), waiting for BEC and sitting for REG NOV 30th. The reason I don’t have a full time is because I really didn’t give it my all when the recruiters were at my campus(worried in the back of my head, about when I’ll finish my CPA). And now that I have finished two parts and, no one is willing to look at me! I’m not eligible for campus recruiting because I already graduated. Stupid co-op, didn’t even inform me that I wouldn’t be eligible. If I knew I would have taken another class this semester to be eligible. To make matters worse is that I currently “temp” at Deutsche Bank – Corporate Tax dept, they won’t even hire me because they have a whole team out in Manila, Philippines doing the work of a first year analyst for half the pay!! It pisses me off soo much. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place! I can’t even do anything about it. You would figure that, some company would at least call you back knowing that you are on the right track, but no!!!! Nothing!
