Why don’t we all put our anxiety into perspective. Take a moment to try and imagine the days in which scores were not posted online, and CPA hopefuls were left hounding the mail man for their precious letters. The very fact that the results are now available quicker has only served to create more anxiety. Before the automatic NASBA posting started last wave, people were for the most part content to wait with some dignity until the following night. Now that the process has become quicker, we only seem to be more frantic to get our scores. Why? Most of us have been at this process for a long time, which takes an inordinate amount of patience to get through. Extend that patience to the score release process and accept it for what it is. A CPA license is all about delayed gratification, tons of work on the front-end in hopes of future benefits. If you can stomach that, why not realize that the score release process only delays the ultimate joy of finally being done.
I agree wholeheartedly that this process is flawed and could be done faster, and with less headache. The CPA distinction though is not just about smarts, it’s about dedication and not letting bumps in the road stop us. Why water it down by boosting customer satisfaction. I for one am proud of the fact that the AICPA cannot get to me with their antics. I know the day is coming when they surrender in defeat to me and my persistence and are left no other option but to confirm that I indeed trumped their little test.
