lol erin. No worries. I took AUD the same day you took FAR. Doesnt it feel like it was a year ago? Now we have to wait another month!

Are scores out yet? Are scores out yet? Are scores out yet?

Ha. They are all beasts. I thought AUD was just as difficult as FAR (i know, i am the only idiot that thought so). Stupid Audit. If I failed I am going to be pissed.

    Hey all,

Not sure if this warrants its own thread or is appropriate here, but attached is a listing of the open/close status of scheduled to be closed Prometric testing centers for all of us who will be testing at the end of the window: https://www.prometric.com/sitestatus/default.htm

I had to pay to stay in a hotel for the massive snow storm of February 2010, because Prometric would not make a call on whether or not the test center would close before the day of my scheduled test. Of course my test center did not close, and even though that was the first time of three it took me to pass FARE, I was glad I contingency planned and didn't miss my test date. Now as I embark on (hopefully) taking and passing AUD as my last part left, this freaking mess of Hurricane Irene emerges during my last week of preparation. I think my worst fear is not being able to use my computer for the next 2-3 days due to a power outage and the center magically being open on Tuesday. I have parts expiring so re-scheduling is not an option.

Stay strong everyone on the East Coast, health and family come before this stupid test. But yeah, check that site to keep an ear low to the ground and make contingency plans if your test center won't announce a close prior to your test day.

Allyson, When paper and pencil CPA's as I like to call them, tell me how “easy” I've got it ask them “Were there 12 or 13 standards when you tested? Because there are over 160 now.” One even had the nerve to tell me that he spent $90 to pass the exam and he had to take it 3 times. I told him that $90 wouldn't cover the admin fees now. They tend to shut up when you tell them you have spent the dollar equivalent of a compact car in testing fees and review materials.

Welp… I guess I can post here now that I've taken my exam. I don't have high hopes. I felt great going in, but my test was a beast. I feel pretty disheartened. I have until October 15th to pass REG or I lose FAR. I'm going to call the CA Board of Accountancy and see if I can go ahead and submit an application fee just in case.

    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78

kandisjoy – I have heard that from a lot of folks regarding REG (Including me). I am pretty sure the SIMS did me in. Oh well….I am not anxious to see the scores this window. I am mentally prepared to see a failing score. 🙁

I took the test a week ago. I want my damn score. Can someone please entertain/distract me for the next month or so?

When CPAs who took the old test get all sentimental and dusty about the good old days, I find it useful to remind them that they are almost dead.

@mena – I just had a lot of obscure questions. Even my MCQs were difficult. I had a ton of topics on just one area and hardly any on others. I feel like 80% of the studying I did was useless because my exam was so concentrated on certain subjects. Then the sims were just.. crazy. I felt like at least 3 of them belonged more on a FAR exam than on a REG exam (I actually did get almost the exact same sim when I took FAR, and I remember it still because it was so difficult!). I was expecting to do really well on the exam since I knew SO much more going into it this time than I did when I took it before… but I felt terrible. 🙁

I hope that you get a better exam than I did. It's just the luck of the draw I guess.

@Erin – I'm sorry to hear that you had a similar experience. Let's hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I'm going to continue studying, are you?

    @kandis

Your exam must have been identical to mine. I had a lot of questions on Complex Topic X but when it came down to testing the basic Fundamental Topics A, B, & C, they were few and far between.

I had two FAR sims and one of them I'm pretty sure I had when I took FAR, but it was brain-dumped in 2010.

I told myself I would continue to study but my Becker expired. A friend brought me her 2011 Wiley REG text and I am looking it over now.

This is going to be a long month.

    Kandis –

Look at the brighter side, you never know… strange things have happened and stange scores have been received by people who did not even expected to pass….

I agree with you that luck plays a big part on what kind of testlets / questions you get….I will keep you posted about my encounter after 31st………

Reading from all the posts, some candidates get every little detail of everything in the CSO outline and some (like you) get heavily tested on just one topic…..Also, they will drop one of your simulations so may be one of the 3 from FAR's
