Hi everyone! After a long break (work stuff took over my life) I'm back…I have two exams left and am studying my .. off.
QUESTION: I haven't taken an exam since 2010 (passed BEC and AUD) so all this new score stuff is news to me…Could someone give me a brief overview of how we are getting scores now, how long, what others are seeing, etc? The website looks way different as well!?!?
I took a test 8/12 and I have a test 8/31; now I need to know if I passed or have to take them again in October before I lose BEC :(.
The scores will begin coming out the 3rd week of September. There was a lot of discussion last quarter as to what the 3rd week meant, but the scores began coming out around the 20th and were released over about a week. My guess is that it would be similar this time around. I do have one comment. If you took BEC on 5/20/10, your score shouldn't expire until 11/20. If you have to retake one of this quarter's exams, you won't be able to schedule your exam until you know that you've failed, but you should have plenty of time.
i am new on this forum, but I felt the need to share my feelings. I am with you, this wait is killing me. For the other 2 examns I took them at the last day of the last month of the testing window, so it was not that bad. But this last one, AUD, I did it at the beginning of July, what a mistake. I can't wait to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mimimorty, I'm not sure if you live in a NASBA state or not, but most states release their scores online through NASBA's website (nasba.org). They're expected to roll out the 3rd week or so of September.
In most of the non-NASBA states, you can get your score from a site maintained by the state board of accountancy. However, there are still a few states that use snail mail.
I'm confused – Minimorty isn't new to this forum at all. He's been online for over 100 hours and been a frequent poster… hacked account? Or maybe he just meant new to this thread…
I didnt know you could take the ethics exam in CA as soon as you can sit. I dont have anything to study in Sept while im waiting for scores, so maybe that would be a good time to do it? How long do you think it takes to study for the exam? How long did it take to get the grade back?
I'm SO not in a patient mood. Let's hope the AICPA sends me my ethics exam info soon so I have SOMETHING to distract me while I wait… This is going to be a loooong month…
Yeah, if you have some down time, definitely knock out the ethics. You purchase the materials and exam through CalCPA. 50 mcq, open book. Questions are tricky though. You have 3 chances to score 90%. Score shows up immediately.
