@Newbie58: The test is adaptive. So the 2nd testlet gets harder if you perform well on the 1st testlet and the same goes for the 3rd one. It is a good sign that the 2nd one got harder…

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

I got a lovely email from NASBA a day or two ago reminding me about the score release timeline. It was considerate of them – but as if I didn't know!!

I was really wishing that email would have said sometime earlier in September…

    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

With you on that one, although I was really kind of hoping that they had managed to improve things that the scores would be released even sooner than September, depending on when one takes the exams.

    Oh well.

I guess I can post here now that I've officially joined the waiting game. Count me in for waiting on reg and bec. End of September is a long way away.

I am assuming scores will not be released any earlier for the 3rd quarter, but does anyone know if they will be released more frequently or sooner for the 4th quarter?

I think 4th quarter is when they start releasing scores about 2 weeks after you take the exam

I am very tired of this waiting game. I'm used to bad news on score day but I just wish I could find out. I'm honestly considering giving up the battle if I don't get FAR this time because I will have lost AUD. It seems really crazy to me to have to study and retest for something I already passed and this exam is really taking the enjoyment out of life!

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!

Hopefully, the score wait this quarter won't be so bad for me. The only exam I'm taking this quarter is REG, which is scheduled for 8/30/11. So, what is it? Only a 3 week wait??

Sure sounds short now. But once I walk out of the exam room on 8/30, it will be the longest 3 weeks of my life. I can already hear the AICPA laughing, “Mwahhahahahaha!!!”

@hilaryh_88- I failed FAR 4 times before I passed. I had to change my study methods in order to boost my score to an 89. If you fail, don't give up. Just change your way of studying. You can do it, trust me. I felt the same way as you did when I failed it 4 times.

CPA Man, I'm with you, I intentionally scheduled AUD as late as possible in this window, figured I was going to spend that time either studying or waiting so I may as well spend it studying. The last week of August is closing for me at work so the 25th was the best I could do.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

It's back! Yeah!!! I sat for REG last week. I am not too confident that I passed. I got a 87 on my practice test; however, the actual exam was nothing like my Becker practice test. The SIMS were awful. There was one SIM that was not in my study material. Luckily, I was able to remember a little from a college course I took in college. I THINK I might of got it right. I have a feeling if I fail, it's the SIMS that did me in. Does anyone know if they give partial points/credit for the SIMS? How exactly do they grade the SIMS? I am hoping for a score close to passing or passing at this point. I have already mentally prepared myself to have to sit for it again next window.

If there was only 1 Sim that you were stuck on, then you're fine. 1 Sim is not going to kill you and chances are, it was probably a pre-test one.

Since there are 6 Sims on REG with one being a pre-test, only 5 will be counted. Each Sim is worth 1/5 of the 40 points. So each Sim is worth about 8 points. And they grade each Sim based on the number of boxes you have to answer. So, let's say you had one Sim on MACRS depreciation. On this Sim, let's say there were 8 questions asking you to calculate the depreciation. Each box is worth one-eighth of that Sim. If you get only 4 questions out of the 8 correct, you'll get around 4 points out of the 8. You don't have to get an entire Sim right to get points.

And it also could be (although it's never been proven) that each particular question is weighted based on difficulty. We don't really know for sure. The AICPA has this whole secret grading system. But one thing I know for sure is that there IS partial credit on a Sim. If you get only 4 of the 8 boxes on TB Sim #1 correct, then you'll get points for those 4 questions you got correct. Trust me, if they required you to get all questions in one SIm correct, then these exams would only have a less than 10% pass rate, lol.

Don't worry. I'm sure you did fine. if you got an 87% on the practice test, then you'll be fine. Most people do better on the real exam.

    @cpaman,

Thanks for the info on the sims. I wasn't sure if they gave partial credit. That gives me some hope.
