anyone have any news on FAR…this is going to make or break my fall. I have to pass this window or in the October/November testing window or I lose reg. I can't even imagine retaking Reg….congrats to all who have passed in this window and for those who didn't- KEEP TRYING! I just passed my two year mark of taking/studying for the exam you will make it!!

Broadway – I really don't think I passed. I only studied four weeks while working and really needed a couple more weeks. The sims were very tough. If I do some how pass it will be just barely as was with Audit. However, I will gladly take mid 70's on all 4 parts.

Perfect score is a 300. No one ever asks you what you got on the exams.

I am crossing my fingers that most of my BEC test questions were “test” questions. I swear it felt like 60% of my test was over one chapter in the book. Although I knew that chapter, I didn't have it memorized so the in depth questions were all guesses on my part. On the other hand, I wish I could have gone back the next week and taken that exact test again because I could have easily gotten an A with only a couple hours of studying.

I clicked through the REG MCQ's with ease. I was feeling great!

Then… ZHANG!!!

There were 4(?) SIMS that completely took the wind out of my sails!

As all of my prayers have ended: “75 me, baby!!!”

for anyone who passed FAR in 2011 do you have any studying suggestions? I used Becker but i feel like there was WAY more IFRS stuff on the exam than i expected and i need a good study tool for this I am preparing to fail, so that I have an action plan…any other study suggestions welcome also!

Wow. so sounds like everyone is pretty much in the same boat with these Sims for REG. Let's all hope for 75's!! Let's gooooo.. Release the scores!!!

Broadway – It's funny you say that. I was talking this morning with a CPA that we hired a few months ago and he said the controller asked for copies of all his CPA exam scores during the interview process. I worked in Big 4 for 3 years and never heard of this happening.

Oh, I meant to ask, I know the “loophole” thing is not supposed to work anymore but has anyone tried it. I am curious if anyone can register for a test they have taken. This is my first time waiting so I am looking at every loophole and conspiracy theory I can find. I assume if I would have tried to reregister 2 weeks ago that the boxes would have been greyed out….right?

@SeanHath- I had the exact same situation with FAR. Felt like MC were a breeze and then got to Sims and wanted to cry! I knew the material inside and out and those questions came out of no where! Feel at ease knowing that you can pass even if you bomb the sims. I barely passed but let me tell you- I BOMBED the sims!!

Determined- That's insane. Doesn't matter how well you did. the three letters C-P-A are all that matter.

@ern1233974- I passed FAR in 2011 I used Becker for FAR and I felt like doing the HW and re-reading concepts over and over until I could recite the formulas/answers without looking worked for me.

How did you think your FAR MC testlets went? Were they all getting harder? I am a little worried. Mine were easy, hard, and back to easier again. I agree that the FAR Sims were brutal.
