@Lindrobe: they won't do that because then they wouldn't be able to curve the exam. I know they swear up and down it's not curved, but that has to be one of those “it depends on what your definition of ‘is' is” things. Guessing they at least update the difficulty weighting on questions based on exams taken, then score them and that would allow them to honestly state exams aren't “curved” because it's only indirectly influenced by other test takers.

Adderall is not all it is cracked up to be and many people abuse it because one of the side effects is that it makes you lose weight. I know because my sister wanted to lose a few pounds, so her friend told her exactly what doctor to go to and what to say. She got prescribed adderall and is now a COMPLETELY different person. It has turned her world upside down. Moral of story – DON'T DO IT!!! Anyhow, back to waiting for our scores.

You had me at “lose weight”. 🙂

But in all seriousness, no, I would not do it. Alcohol and Ibuprofen are the extent of my “drug” use. Can't help but daydream about what it would be like to have focus for once in my life though…

The drug of choice for top students at top universities is Provagil. I wouldn't mind giving that one a try during cram week.

I have never had a thought about taking drugs to loose weight or focus on studying.

I always felt that we can empower ourselves to achieve a goal if we want it badly. Some people are very fortunate that they can do certain things with little effort and others have to work harder to get there.

But at the end of the day – we all can do it. Just need to believe in ourselves and keep trying / keep improving ourselves.

I am very anti – drugs. Advil/Tylenol is about as far as i will go unless I need a drug because its life threatening – example Ventolin pump if I get an asthma attack.

I guess I am just very weary about drugs and what other side effects they may have on my body long term.

talking about drugs, i was literally crashing for my last exam. I remember when i could study for 8 hours a day for weeks and feel great, but then i had an allergic reaction on something and took Benadril for few days, and the side effects were awful: like literally, insomnia, memory/appetite loss, heat waves, and what is most important, my brain could not absorb any information, i could study for like 2 hours a day, and then i would get bored or fell asleep. I was walking like a zombie for a week, then had my exam and now i feel much better. I am waiting for my score and hope it will not be in 30s 🙂

Im just so glad May 2014 is oveeeeerrrr

Coffee is a drug. Was addicted to it and tea. Been caffeine free for 3 weeks now and feel great! Withdrawal was a bitch but was so worth it.

Okay, I apologize for the extremely remedial post here, but I've been assigned to check my sister's CPA exam score (she's just begun and took the FAR last Tuesday and can't bear to go look herself). I have her number and the site where to check her score, but I don't know anything else about the process. When I input her number and birth date, the site displays she took the FAR (which is correct) but no test date and, obviously, no score yet. Come Friday, what should I expect? I am the ultimate newbie in that I'm not even an accountant/CPA (nor ever plan to be). Any help/expectation-setting would be appreciated.

First question, what state is your sister testing in?

    AUD - 65, 89!
    REG - 70, 89!
    FAR - 78!
    BEC - 77!

    Finally!

@Jamie79, when the score will be released, after you enter Section ID and b-day, you will see the attendance date and advisory score, which is the final score, thats it.

She's sitting for VA which I think is a “normal” state, not an indie one (at least from skimming these message boards).

You need to log in here then

Type in the first 3 digits of the NTS and then her b'day date.

Next F5 is your bestfriend until the score shows up 😀

I would actually monitor this thread on Friday and wait until you see someone say they got their scores. — esp someone who says they got their FAR score.. then start checking for your sister 🙂
