svwCPA72MemberHi everyone!
I just joined recently, but i've been taken the examthe for almost 2 years now. I was luck with the 1st 2 tests I took and was able to pass them right away. I've been have trouble passing reg and audit. I have taken audI reit 3 times and reg 2 times without success and as a result have lost both bec and financial that I already passed. I took reg again today. So I really hope I passed this time! But I hate this wait! I wish I would have made it for a different time. It is going to drive me nuts waiting almost a month!
Thanks guys. U have helped me get through these last fewscore releases!

moniquiux80MemberHello,
I have been reading about the back door check to see if you pass a CPA section, but I was wondering if this method does work and to know a little bit more about it.

AnonymousInactive@moniquiux80, wow I had to Google the back door check. I was really afraid of what results I'd get.
Apparently it works like this. If the test has been graded and scores received at NASBA, sign into cpacentral.nasba.org.
I just took the FAR exam, I would then click on Apply and try to apply to take the FAR exam again. If it lets me choose FAR (it's greyed out if still considered pending) then it may mean that I failed the exam.
I don't know the accuracy of this, but it's a neat theory.

moniquiux80MemberHi Drex,
I also googled it to try understand this “method” But i what I got was more questions!!!! Do you know if there is a certain date after we can register? HOw do you know the difference between a pending exam and the fact that you passed? Thanks!

musicamorMember@jcw1503…because our grade is not solely dependent upon getting the right/wrong answer. Our score is a component of how we do in comparison to others–that's why they have to wait until those from a particular tessting window are finished. The potentially negative thing about getting our score sooner is our grade is not compared to the total population for a particular testing window; thereby reducing the probability of getting more points. It's kind of confusing and shady, if you ask me. 🙂

musicamorMember@moniquiux80 and @Drex…I don't believe that theory holds. It definitely does not work for non-nasba states.

jcw1503MemberThat does sound shady…so are you saying the amounts of points you receive for a correct answer depends on how others during the same testing window did on those questions?

HappyMember@ musicamor “The potentially negative thing about getting our score sooner is our grade is not compared to the total population for a particular testing window; thereby reducing the probability of getting more points.”
On the flip side, our grade is not compared to the total population thereby INCREASING the probability of getting more points!!
It goes both ways!!!
And anyways, the general consensus about how the ‘curve' works, is that they compare your score to candidates from PREVIOUS windows to determine how to value each question.
I think most people agree (and NASBA may even have written somewhere) that how well or poorly other candidates in your window score has ZERO effect on your grade!
