I am very sorry you feel as though my response has led you to believe I am calling you horrible people. That is simply not the case. I meant no harm by my statements. Again, I must agree with you, I too am very upset as I have been looking forward to getting my score. That being said, it goes without saying that there are worse things in this world. Then again, agree to disagree. Good luck to you and all other candidates.

momof4MemberThis exam has had my stomach tied in knots for a week, and it is not because I did not study. If you can't voice disappointment here where do you talk about it? Honestly our score and our fate were decided when we clicked quit exam. Why does it take so long to get a score? The long wait draws this thing out and makes the re-study harder and the 18 month clock is still ticking. We have the downside of the automated exam and I would like to enjoy the upside of a fast score. I have experienced the 3 plus month wait in the past and I realize that improvements have been made. However, many of us don't have the luxury of not working while we study so the 18 month clock matters. This is quite a challenge even if you have the experience, education, and determination to make it to the end.
End of venting and I'll just wait for my score now.
BEC 84
FAR 80
AUD 85

LSNYCMemberI know people complain, including myself about unimportant things all the time. I am extremely annoyed that we will not be getting scores tomorrow and think everyone can express that. However, I think at a time like this we should all reflect on what is really important in life.
I say this as someone who was directly effected, I was very lucky, but i know plenty of family and friends who were not as lucky. Including people who lost everything. So when venting about your frustration about score release please remember people, including people on this board have lost a great deal.

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

AnonymousInactiveGot the email today..The release of these scores will be delayed approximately one week or more.
November 2, 2012 at 2:15 am #385868
NoOriginsMemberJust playing devil's advocate, but what does NASBA gain by having a backup plan for a short delay in test score releases? I mean, in all seriousness, a week delay in a score release is not likely going to impact their “business” model. You already paid for the exam, and it's not like you're going to get a refund. Are you going to boycott taking the other CPA sections because they delayed your score release by a week? Is a delay of a week, or even a month, going to stop countless other people from pursuing a CPA license and paying those hefty exam fees in the future? Probably not. Let's not forget that the reason we go through the months or years of hell studying for the CPA exam is because we want the CPA license. If they know we're willing to put up with that, they know dang well that they benefit little from having backup plans for brief delays. They aren't like amazon or a trading firm that could suffer millions of dollars in losses from even a few minutes of downtime.
Not trying to be mean or pick a fight, but just pointing out from a cost benefit stand point, what does NASBA gain by having a backup system that allows them to ensure we get our scores by the deadline they promised? And yes, I'm impacted by this delay too. It does suck, but like others have said, it could be far worse.
FAR: Passed
REG: Passed
BEC: Passed
AUD: PassedNovember 2, 2012 at 5:34 am #385869
sln1000MemberI agree with you to the extent that short delay is not going to make a difference but coz of lack of back up plan what if they have lost all our test data. What if the building in which our tests are saved gets affected? To that extent back up n contingency plan is necessary. It's not a joke to appear for exams again esp when you have done the exams well. But I am doubtful if AICPA had backed up test information at a different site.
BEC: 77(Nov 2010), 81(Jul 2012).
FAR: 80(Jul 2012).
REG: 72(Jul 2012), 78(Oct 2012).
AUD: 71(Nov 2010),74(Jul 2012),74(Oct 2012),75(Jan 2013)- Thanks God, without you i couldnt have done this. I'M DONE !!!November 2, 2012 at 1:16 pm #385870
JpgrochoParticipantWell, despite the kind email I received about the delay in score release, the first thing I did when I got to work this morning was check for my score. I am sure I will continue to check periodically as well. Just hoping. And does it make a difference?! To me….yes it does. Its much easier for me to move on and study for other parts of the exam knowing the outcome of my previous exam. I mean, the constant thought of pass or fail is always hanging over me. Need relief.
